Reaper, oh Reaper
Why do you weep?
Is because a young girl had everything stolen before her very own eyes?
Or is it because the young boy, who slits his wrists,
Said goodbye by putting a gun to his head?
Or is it possibly for the young mother who cries out with grief for her daughter,
Who has lost a long battle with cancer?
Reaper, oh Reaper
Is this why you weep?
Or is it because you saw a child beat to their demise,
By the very people who are supposed to protect them?
Maybe it is for those who you meet after an accident, or a murder?
Or do you weep because it is your duty to take these poor souls away,
Away from the people who they leave behind?
Oh, this is why you weep, isn't it my old friend?
