They say love has to hurt to be true,
That this a universal truth.
Why does it have to be this way?
They say that war is necessary,
That governments and countries would fall without it.
Why does it have to be this way?
They say world peace it unattainable,
That it's simply inconceivable,
It simply can not be done.
Why does it have to be this way?
They say that poverty and starvation have always been around,
It's never going to change, why try?
Why does it always have to be this way?
They say I'm too young,
Too naive, too innocent,
For my opinion to hold any weight.
Why does it always have to be this way?
My words don't matter,
My rhymes are just a silly pastime,
Why should they listen to me,
I'm just a fifteen year old.
Why does it always have to be this way?
Those who can be heard,
Hold their tongue,
For fear of what other would think,
So they stick to the status quo.
Never change,
Never to speak,
Never to help.
It will always be this way.
