Big Brother Emmett

Ever since the Cullen's have taken in Edward's 'siblings', he had fallen in love with every single one of them. Well except for Emmett. It wasn't that Edward didn't like him, it was just that Emmett was really big and strong and Edward was afraid that he could hurt him. Of course Emmett had become aware of this fairly early and was completely heart broken. It broke his heart even more when he saw Edward go to one of his 'siblings' and completely ignore him, but he understood Edwards needs and waiting to gain his trust.
Unlike most nights, it was raining fairly hard outside. It was so loud that you couldn't even hear the lightening anymore. As each hour past the storm became worst and soon Edward awoke frightened. He looked around until a lightening was close to his window, he through his blanket over his head and cried. At the sound of this Emmett rushed in, since he was on babysitting duties since his family was out hunting.
"Hey it's okay baby. Calm down," he said picking Edward up. Edward didn't have anything to do with it so his tears grew harder and louder. Emmett went downstairs to the rocking chair that was beside a fire place and rubbed Edwards back.
"It's okay Edward, Emmett's got you. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise," he repeated continue with the rocking movement. Edwards cries reduced to sniffles as he slipped his thumb between his lips.
"There we go. Aren't you being such a good boy?" Emmett smiled and made eye contact with Edward realizing he gained his trust. Edward nuzzled close to him and smiled sleepily.
"Cmon baby. Let's go get some sleep," he got up and went to his and Rosalies room laying Edward beside him in the king sized bed. He rubbed his stomach and smiled at the little one. Emmett smiled as Edward began to fall asleep. Emmett closed his eyes as well and began to rest his eyes not realizing his family had come home. When everyone heard the breathes of Edward from Emmetts and Rosalies room they followed the noise. They're hearts melted at the scene in front of them. "I guess Edwards now accepting his big brother," Esme said smiling.
