It's Just Complicated

Chapter 3 (part 3)

(While August was waiting)

Ebony

I slid on my black red bottoms, and my hair was already flat ironed. I put on light make up which was just some red lipstick, eyeliner, and mascara. I grabbed my black Gucci clutch bag and looked in the mirror one last time.

"How do I look ?" I asked Danielle and Onyx.

"Like a Queen." Danielle took some pictures of me.

"Mommy you boofull." I laughed at how she says beautiful.

"Thank you sweetheart." I began walking downstairs.

I reached the bottom of the stairs and August was staring at me.

He looked like a snack😉🍭😍💦.

"Hey Aug." I smiled and walked to him giving him a hug.

"You look amazing E." He kissed me on my cheek and grabbed my hand.

"You do too Aug." I smiled and we walked toward the door.

"Bye daddy's princess. I love you." Aug called back to Onyx.

"Bye daddy ! Bye queen mommy !!" She yelled to us.

"Bye princess Onyx!!" I yelled.

August opened the door for me and I got in. I closed the door and buckled up.

He got in after me and we drove off. And I fell asleep. "Wake up baby." August shook me a little. "Aug, where are we ?" I asked looking around. We were at a private landing strip.

"The first part of our date." He said and got out. He walked around to my side and opened the door. "Come on ma." He held my hand and led me to a jet.

I just got on and looked around. "So.. where we going ?" I asked.

"Don't worry. Just relax." He handed me a glass of pink champagne.

We flew for about two hours and then we landed. We got out and he handed me a blindfold.

"Whatchu want me to do with this ?" I asked examining the blindfold.

"Just put it on." He chuckled. I put the blindfold on making sure not to mess up my hair. Then we got in a car.

"I hate surprises Aug. You know this." I said as i waited impatiently.

We came to a stop, we got out and I heard water. We walked for a few minutes and I could tell we were near a dock or something.

"Ard stop ma." He stopped me and we stood there.

He took the blindfold off and looked at me.

I looked around. "Where are we Aug ?" I kept looking around to see where we were.

He stayed quiet and took my hand. We began walking to a boardwalk.

"You don't remember this place do you ?"

"I really don't Aug." I looked at him.

We walked to the end of the boardwalk and he stopped at a pole. He rubbed one specific spot. And then looked at me.

"November 2nd, 2010. That date mean anything to you ?" He asked.

I thought for a minute then it hit me like a truck.

Flashback

"Just come on ma!!" August laughed and pulled me toward the boardwalk.

"God August I swear if you push me in the water ima kick ya ass!!" I followed quickly behind August.

"I'm not baby just come on." We ran to the end of the boardwalk and stopped.

"Why are we stopping Aug?" I looked at him confused.

"Ebony you know I love you. And I always will. We been through alot and I wanna stay together. You my everything ma." August got down on one knee and pulled out a little box.

I teared up."Aug."

"It's not a wedding ring, it's a promise ring ma. I want you to promise that no matter what we go through that we always gon be together, that one day in the future, you'll be my wife. And we'll have 2 beautiful kids ma. I want you to promise that you'll always be around. Take this promise ring and I'll know it's true." He held the ring out.

I smiled and let him put the ring on my ring finger.

"I love you Aug." I smiled.

"I love you too E." He smiled and kissed me.

"Come here." He handed me a knife.

"Put ya initials on the wood. Ima do the same."  He said carving his initials on the wood.

Flashback over

"AA

EH , together forever." I whispered with tears in my eyes.

I moved his hand from the wood and looked at it.

There it was. August's and my initials carved into the wood.

"Together forever E." I turned to August and he was on one knee.

"Aug." The tears started streaming down my face.

"Baby I know i fucked up. Did some fucked up shit. Did some shit i regret and always will regret. I can't stand the thought of you waking up beside another man, Onyx calling another daddy, or another man making you happy. I regret what i did to you. But one thing I know i won't regret... Is being with you. I've loved you since the day I met you ma. We both know it's true. I'm head over Jordans for you baby.  Please Ebony , take me back baby. Take the promise ring and let me love you the way I should've a long time ago." He pulled out the gold band and held it towards me. I shook my head yes and he slid it on my finger.

"AA and EH, together forever." We said and looked at the pole.

We walked hand in hand to the car and he drove us to a nice restaurant.

We ate and talked all night.

It was about 11 and was told for us to head back to La.

On the way back I took off my shoes and put feet on August. I dozed off not long after that.

When I woke up I was in my bed in my PJs and someone was cuddled up to me. I turned over and it was August. I kissed his cheek and went back to sleep.

*In the flashback they were at a boardwalk on the beach in Miami*

*That's where they went for the date*

*They were 14 and 16 in the flashback*
