"So, where to?" he looks at me from the front mirror.
"My sister's house," I say as I try to dry myself. Good thing is, I stopped dripping!
"Yeah. But I mean like, where?"
"Oh. Right."
I guided the way and we just chatted for a while to make the ride a little less awkward than it is. I told him about the book I'm reading and he tells me about how he started of in chess. I confessed about not really knowing how to play chess and so he offered to teach me. I told him it'll be great but it will never happen anyway. After a couple turns, we finally came to a stop.
He gives me a look, "An ice cream store? This is where your sister lives?"
"Not exactly. But I'd want to live here!" I give him a smile.
I thanked him then got out of the car.
"Whoa, whoa. Where are you going?"
"With you," he says, getting out of his car then locking it.
-_- "What makes you think you can do that?"
"Uh. Probably 'cause of the fact that I just drove you all the way here! Which was supposed to be your sister's house," he laughs a bit. "So, please? Let's hang out today. Maybe straighten things a little."
I look at him for a while. Head to toe. "Whatever. But your treat!" I smile.
Takes him a while to answer,"Fine." then rolled his eyes.

After getting our sweets, we sat at a table by a big window with a view of the outside world. I take out my book and continued reading.
When I noticed he was silent, I look up at him. "Bored?"
He nods while taking a large chunk of his vanilla flavored ice cream from his cup.
"Try looking over there," I point at a near by table. "I think I saw some interesting stuff that you might like." I say, returning to my book. He stands and hurries off.
By the time I was reading the part where Fate actually met someone named Jasmine who luckily was a good ballet dancer, he came back to our table and laid down a mini chess board. Don't tell me he's gonna ask me to play with him.
"Join me?" And I thought so soon.
"I'm reading."
"Oh come on! You asked me to go over there to get something interesting and here it is!" he protests.
"I never said that I was supposed to play with you!" I say.
"Fine, then. You pay for your ice cream."
"What? You haven't paid yet? You said you would! For both of us!" he keeps his eyes away from me. "You're so immature, Migel."
"Stop changing the subject." he says still not looking at me.
"I wasn't even-" I stopped myself 'cause I know how this would end. We always had disagreements like this before. Now, let's add this to the list of why we argue. Because of a game of chess. The only choice I have is to give in since I'm gonna be using the money I have for my next trip to Rome. I've always wanted to go there so he wins this time. And I wouldn't have gotten anywhere if it wasn't for him. So I just let out a deep sigh of defeat.
"Ugh. Alright, I'll try to play with you." I roll my eyes and sigh.
"Good choice." He smiles at me.
"You're lucky it's the only one I have or I would've left you here. Not much of a choice." I mumble under my breath.
"What? Sorry, I didn't catch that." he widens his eyes. Looks kind of creepy, though.
"I said I don't even know how to play chess!" I lie. "And what's this?" I nudge a piece that seems like tallest.
"That's the king." he explains.
"Oh."
"So you really don't know anything about chess huh?" I nod. "Alright. Let's start by naming all the pieces."
"Sure."
"These small ones in front are called pawns. They're your soldiers......."
Once I've gotten the hang of it, it was quite fun! We had about six tries and I won! I don't know if it's just luck or if he really meant to lose.
After he paid, we went back outside to his car and got on our way to my sister's realhouse. It's getting dark now.
"Okay. I had a blast! Thanks for today!" I said. Trying to stop the urge of hugging him.
"Your welcome." he says. I can feel like there's something wrong. He just stares at the floor, like that.
"Is....something wrong?" I try to look at him.
It takes a while before he answers, "Well, it's just that...."
"Hm?" I say.
"Will we meet again sometime?"
That's what's bothering him? Psh. But wait. I try to ask myself the same question. Not that I don't want to see him again. I mean, I didn't want to see him at all today. But I guess that was before.
Right now, I have no idea. Honestly.
