Halfway through the moviethon (after about four movies, two dozen screams of disgust, sassy complains to end the movie and with our bowls of chips close to empty due to heavily throwing almost all of it at each other), I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. I swiped the thing to unlock it then saw a text from my sister. I read it then my senses told me that I should call her immediately.

"Excuse me for a while. I need to talk to my sister." I said squeezing my way out from where I was squished between Eunice and Kaela.

I went outside and leaned by the railings while dialing my sister's number. After three long rings she finally picked up.

"Yes, hello?" she says.

"What was that?" I ask.

"Micah?"

"Uh, yeah it's me."

"Oh."

"So, was it real?" I really need some answers now.

"Which?"

"The thing you just messaged me!" I said practically freaking out.

"Oh, yeah. He really did. Even asked me some questions." by her teasing tone, I can tell she was grinning.

"Like.. what?" I asked suspiciously.

"Like where are you? When will you be back home? Where are you going this weekend? What's your.... number?"

I stiffened. "Alright. Don't tell me you just gave him all the answers to his questions?" I said, holding my breath.

"Actually, I-"

"You did. Okay I'm dead." I say closing my eyes, considering all of this.

"Why? Isn't he, like, your friend?" she says then taking a sip of something (as I heard).

"Was. Look, there are some things I still need to clear in my head, okay?" I said grasping my phone real tight.

"Whatever. But the way I see it, I think he likes you." she said matter-of-factly then taking a sip of that something again.

"Not in a million years. As far as I know, he's been crushing on this girl ever since I can remember!"

"Yeah, he might. But have you clarified that? Did you ever get the chance to ask him again?"

I just sighed. "No."

"See?"

"No, but I will. Ha!" I said.

"Okay, whatever you say. Listen, I got to take the kids to school. Can we talk about this later?" she said.

"Fine." I said rolling my eyes a little. Can't help it. "But wait, did you really give him my number?"

"Uh. Can I just say, you should expect a call from him anytime soon?"

I groaned then mouthed 'why me?'. "Thanks a lot big sis!" I said, sarcastically speaking.

"Oh, sure! Have a nice day at your moviethon."

"You too!"

"Bye!" then she made a kissie sound and ended the call.

I sighed while looking at the setting orange sun in the pinkish sky before heading back inside. I saw that the movie was paused and the lights were on. I think they're already watching Cheaper By The Dozen. I guess this was at Eunice's request.

"What's the hold up?" Beulah asked me.

"Nothing." I mutter.

"Oh come on, by the look on your face, it's something." Kat said raising her eyebrows. Again my facial expressions fail me.

I didn't answer for a while. "Oh fine." I said finally. "I called my sister 'cause she texted me that Migel stopped by at her house a few hours ago."

"I knew something was in his mind." Star said.

"What?" we all turned to her. She just stared at us before saying, "Continue."

"And my sister said that she gave him my phone number." I winced at the thought of him calling me.

"Oh Micah, it's not that bad." Eunice reassured me and all the rest nodded their heads.

"Why don't we just continue watching so you can get it all out of your head for a while, hm?" Kat said.

"Sure." I smiled.

If only they knew.
