As eleven-thirty rolled in, the door bell rang. I opened it to find Kaela standing by the door, wearing a very big smile.
"Yow!" she greeted with a hug.
"Hi!" I smiled.
"We're off!" I called to my sister.
"Be home by 10!" she said sending me a flying kiss.
"Should we buy some things first?" Kaela suggested once we were in her car.
"What do you think? 7/11?"
"Exactly" she flashed me a grin. Then we drove away.
+++++++
"Where does Kat and Star even live? Do they live together?" I ask as we make our way back to her car, each of us carrying one bag of chips and beverages.
"At the Coldwater Residences apartment. And, yes. They live together."
"Ever been there?"
"Uh-huh" Kaela said as she drives us out of the parking space we were in.
"Ooh. Where did they get the money for all this?" I ask again, mentally scolding myself for sounding so nosy. Or am I?
"They work as babysitters." (Sam&Cat.)
"Oh, alright," I say, trying to stop from thinking anymore questions.
When the building came into view, I have to say it wasn't that bad. Which made my excitement grow stronger.
"Hey, where were you last night? You weren't picking up," said Kaela while we were in the elevator towards the third floor.
"Ehh... I was out." Am I seriously going to tell her about Migel? If ever I do, the other girls would also want to know and they might think there's something going on between us since I told them long ago that nothing like that would ever happen. Not unless you're someone way beyond special. Words of a broken heart, I guess.
We stepped out and walked through the hall, heading for room 307.
"Were you with....someone?" her eyes became slits. Eyeing me.
"Maybe?" I said nervously.
"Migel." Ah, when it comes to these things, you can never slip away from Kaela. Try changing the topic and she'll always find a way to stir it back. And when she already squeezed enough info juice out of you, there's no stopping her from telling someone else. Someone close only, of course.
"Antonio?" I didn't know what else to say. That's his second name, for your information.
"And, McKrine." okay, she wins.
I stay silent.
"I knew it." she grins while turning the doorknob and pushing the door open. "Hey gals!" we were immediately greeted by Beulah, Mikaylah, Eunice and, of course, the hosts of today's event.
"Where's Alekz?" I ask as Kaela and I put down the bags on the counter top and Eunice, ripping them open and pouring the contents into big circular bowls.
"Oh, she had last minute plans to visit her mom who's not feeling feel. Suggest we should all pray for her." Kat explains.
"Poor thing." I sigh.
"Not to be rude or anything, but I say we should start. I mean, we're all here right?" said Beulah.
"Yeah. Romance goes first 'cause no one really likes it." Star said placing the disk of 'Letters to Juliet' in the CD player.
"I like romance!" Mikaylah protests.
"Sure Miks, but democratically, in this case, majority wins." playfully sticking out her tongue at the now pouting, defeated Mikaylah, Star bounces back on the couch between Kat and Beulah.
"Here comes ze chipz!" Eunice announces, setting three large bowls of chips.
I took one, eating it bit by bit.
"Hey guys, I think Micah has something extremely important to tell us." Kaela said flashing me another grin. I almost choked on my chip. Here it goes.
"Yeah sure. We can discuss that later after the movie." said Kat.
I shot Kaela a look. She just shrugs.
