New Life, New Love

Liam forced his tired eyes open, the rapid echo of an alarm clock ringing through his ears. Aching, the muscles in his arms moved to shut the irritating sound off. He shuddered as the cold, morning air nipped at his skin.
At least he woke up facing the opposite way from the harsh rays of the early sun. Exhaustingly, Liam brought his palms to his eyes, rubbing them.
After the sleep was cleared, his eyes squinted, adjusting to the morning light. The wood floor gleamed under the sun, showing just how recently it had been cleaned.

Attempting to be silent, Liam sat up, stretching his arms and back. A soft sigh left his lips and he turned to look at the sleeping man beside him. Zayn could sleep through anything- Except when Louis cried. Liam put that down to a parent's natural instincts.

After having such a difficult night, Liam decided to let him sleep a bit longer knowing they both probably didn't get enough hours of rest. Zayn already wasn't a morning person. It wouldn't harm anything to stay in bed longer.

Liam decided on showering, thinking he might as well get on with his day since there wasn't much of a chance he would fall asleep again.
With the cold air continuously hitting his body, he hurriedly got into a steaming shower, relaxing as warmth consumed him. Liam always took showers where the water temperature was nearly burning his skin. Zayn never understood how he did that. The older man preferred luke warm showers. It relaxed him; and kept him from feeling as if his skin would burn off.

Not requiring much time, Liam was shortly out of the shower. He brushed his teeth and hair, throwing on some jeans and a sweater. Neither of the men worked outside of home today and with no activities to venture outside today, there wasn't a need to wear anything but casual items. Liam was happy he wasn't required to dress nicely today. He enjoyed the days he could wear comfortable clothing. Every now and then one of them might have to run to the office, but for the most part,  the majority of their work could be completed at their home office.

Liam chuckled lightly as he walked into the room, catching sight of Zayn still fast asleep.

It was now 8:30 and Liam decided on waking Louis up.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the boy woke up at 8 to go to daycare. They decided to just keep the routine and he woke up at 8 everyday. On rare occasions, they would all sleep in. Most of the time it wouldn't last long seeing as the boy would already be awake.
His body never let him sleep much later than normal.

Liam was almost dreading this morning. Louis was meant to spend the day at Josh's. They had planned this in order for the house to be quite so Zayn and Liam could have some bonding time with Madison. It would be hard to explain the rules and not have the girl distracted if a 4 year old was running around the house.
They would never think of Louis as a distraction. But it was very critical that Madison was comfortable. At some point, Madison was bound to get embarrassed whether Louis was there or not. It would most likely be worse with the latter though. Louis wouldn't know what he was doing, but, it wouldn't help that he most likely would be in her personal space. The boy didn't know any better. It was just best that Madison gets settled in first.

That's the part Liam was dreading. Louis has known he was meant to go with Josh today. But, after last night's events, Liam was sure he wouldn't want to go.

Nearly silent, Liam's sock covered feet padded into the infants' nursery, making his way towards the cribs.

He decided to check in on Madison before he woke up Lou.

The nursery was an average sized room. On one side, Louis' crib touched the wall. Madison's was the same, just on the other side. The two's cribs were across from each other's.
