We gathered our things, throwing them up in our shared bedroom. It was clean, as always. If anything was laying around on the floor we would get in trouble from mom.Once we had finished putting our things away, it was time to help with dinner. Mom is always too busy in her office to be cooking, that's what she says anyway. I started with beans over the stove while Aiden was busy setting the table.
All I could think about was this girl. She's at our school, and I have no clue who she is. All I would need is her name, it would be simple.
I hop up on the counter while I wait for the pan to get hot. All I have to do is get her name and find the girl in our school. There can't be that many girls with the same name, right? Besides, when I see her, I will know it's her. Everything about her makes my heart race. I felt my right leg vibrate, my face instantly turned into the biggest smile ever. Taking out my phone I typed in my password.
It was her, she had messaged me.
Dear Ross,
Rossy, that's a lovely story. I bet you and Aiden are very close. He seems like a sweet guy, especially how he cheered you up at that girls birthday party. If you weren't so into me, I'd think you would have been with him already. I'm sorry I can't tell you my name, it's a secret yanno? But I do want to meet you. I want to hug you and squeeze you, laying with you all night and holding your hand. I want us to be like a real couple. Trust me Rossy, I want us to be everything you hoped for. I'm just afraid you won't love me anymore if you saw me. - xx
I sighed at her message, she was so pure and wanted the best for both of us. I quickly messaged back to her explaining that I didn't care who she was or what she looked like. Girls loved this stuff, so Aiden says.
I giggled to myself while writing back to her. I explained that I was so happy to hear back from her, especially at how bored I am while making burritos. Just before hitting send, I decided to tag a picture along with it. I wanted to show her the food I made.
I stirred the beans in a circular motion as they got hot. Aiden walked in with a grater and started shredding cheese. the burritos were half way to being in my mouth. I inched my way down, off the counter till my feet werefirmly on the floor.
The burritos were finally done, I took another photo on my phone and added it to the email I was sending my girl. One day she might send one back, thats what I'm hoping at least. The picture consists of me taking a bite out of my food while holding up my thumb, exclaiming that it was good.
I hit send, just as Aiden's phone went off. He had told me he met someone also, Someone he says he is in love with. Ive never met the girl myself but I know that if Aiden likes her, they are perfect together.
"Was that her?" I smiled, leaning my head over his shoulder.
"What did I say about hovering?" He chuckles and takes a step away from me, opening his message. Why doesn't he ever let me see who his girl is?
I remember one time I asked him, he said that once I show him mine, he will show me his.
I sighed as I watched him smile at his messages. All I wanted was a peek. I tell him all about my messages and he never once tells me about his.
"What did she say?" I look at his facial expressions trying to see what she had said to him. The closest I got was to seeing the reflection in his eyes. "Aiden" I mope, leaning my head over and seeing his screen for approximately one second.
"What the fuck! I told you no! Do you not understand what no means Ross?" he cussed at me with a face red as a tomato. He seemed really mad at me.
"I just wanted to see. I tell you about my girl all the time, and here you are screaming at me for just wanting to look?" I take a step back cowardly and look down at my feet.
"Im sorry, I shouldn't have yelled." He maturely apologizes while wrapping his arms around me in a tight hug.
Sometimes I pretend that Aiden is the girl I'm talking to. I know it sounds weird, but when we watch movies I close my eyes and pretend that it was her instead of Aiden.
I hugged him back, smiling at how he was not mad at me anymore. "Just, don't look at my stuff okay?" he whispers and sighs one more time.
"Okay, im sorry." I manage to rest my head on his chest and run my hand up and down his arm. His skin was so soft, so smooth, I didn't want him to stop touching me.
Oh why cant I just have my dream girl here? I want to hold her and be able to show her the real me. Aiden hands moved up the back of my shirt, his hand caressing my back. He always made me feel better, even when I fail at everything in life.
"Is the food ready?" mother walks down with her footsteps loud. I don't know if I noticed her coming down by her voice or by the way that Aiden moved away from me quickly, once again.
"Yep" Aiden yells back just as she enters the kitchen. Mom takes her plate of food and goes back up stairs.
I always have admired her. If my mom loved me then maybe I would have not been this close to Aiden.
On the other hand, is Atleast have my own mother.
But I can't keep blaming her, it wasn't her fault and it wasn't mine. It was an accident, just a simple thing that was apparently meant to be.
She always told me that when things were meant to happen then you can't stop them. It will happen either way.
"What was that?" I question at how Aiden jumped back so fast.
"What was what?" He turned around and looked at me with a straight face, almost as if he really didn't know what he did.
"Nevermind." I divert my eyes from his and take another bite of my burrito.
