It was lunch time at school, but here where I am is tv and ice cream time. Today I stayed home sick, Aiden stayed with me even though I'm positive he just wanted to get out of school. We're watching Godzilla together, one of our favourites in a long time. Ive been thinking, Aiden told me that I should invite my girl to the dance, seeing as she went to our school, she should say yes. The only thing bothering me is that she has yet to reply. It has only been a few hours, but usually she answered when im in second period. My nerves were getting to me more then my fever. Aiden got up, stretching his legs and pausing the movie.
"I'll be right back okay little dude?" He ruffles my hair before taking a few steps to the door.
"Aiden?" I say as loud as I can, not a yell but loud enough as my throat can take.
"Sup?
"Do you think she will say yes?" I ask him, a worried look on my face as he looks down for a minute.
"I know she will. She has no reason to say no Ross, you are dating." He closes the door behind him and I can't help but bite my cheek, looking over at the table that holds my phone.
What if she emailed me back and I just didn't notice my screen light up.
I crawl to the end of the bed and reach for my device, making sure both my feet stay on the bed, I touch the phone with my finger tips.
What if she's been waiting for me to answer and I'm leaving her hanging?
What if I forgot to press send! My life is ending, what if she hates me for not emailing her more then once? I stretch a little further, managing to click the 'home' button, it turning on and showing me the time, no notifications.
Not even one. I was right, I forgot to press send, I knew it! I go to grab my phone just as it vibrates and moves a few inches away from my fingers.
Thats her! I knew I never forgot to press send!
Instantly, I get up and grab my phone, laying back in bed just as Aiden comes back in my room.
"Aiden she emailed me back!" I smile wide and he lays down beside me with a giant grin on his face.
"Oh yeah? What did she say?" He asks me, leaning his head on my shoulder.
"Nope! I don't get to see yours, so you don't get to see mine." I stick my tongue out at him, giggling before my phone is ripped from my hands. "Aiden no! I haven't even looked yet!" I pout, jumping up and reaching for my phone.
"Oh Ross," he says in a girly tone, "You are sooo lovely and amazing. I would love to go to the dance with you!" He smirks down at me. I stopped reaching and smiled before putting a sour face on.
"Give me my phone!" I yell at him.
"But." He says putting a frown on his face and directly on mine. 'But'? why but, why didn't she want to go with me? I sat down on the bed and started to feel tears come up into my eyes. "Want me to keep reading?" He whispers, sitting beside me.
"No, I don't want to hear an excuse." I sniffle and lay my head on Aiden's chest.
"Im reading it anyway." He puts his arm around me and kisses my cheek, wiping my tears away with his sleeve.
"Please don't" I whimper,
"But, I need to get the prefect outfit for my perfect guy." He whispers in my ear and I feel him smile against my flesh. What a-
"Bastard!" I groan and face him, pushing him away from me. "You made it sound so bad!" I groan and scream once he pins me down to the bed, tickling me and talking over every word I say by groaning. "Aiden stop!" I manage to spit out after a few minutes of laughing.
"Ill stop once you forgive me!" He smirks and moves his hands to my sides. I felt like I was going to stop breathing.
"Okay! I forgive you!" I sigh as he stops tickling me and sits on my waist. "Im so happy she said yes." I smile up at him and lay on the bed with my arms spread out. Aiden hands lay on my stomach and he plays with the hem of my shirt.
"Im glad you are happy Ross. I like seeing you smile." he tells me, his body falling beside me and he presses play. I snap out of my thoughts and look over at the Tv. Basketball tryouts are the day after the dance, I have so much on my mind and yet im happy with anything aslong as I get to meet the girl of my dreams.
