"Congratulations Ma'am you are five weeks pregnant" the doctor told her confirming the thing she feared for few days.
"A-are... are you sure?" she asked wanting to confirm or rather wanting the doctor to deny what she felt and knew that instant she realized something has changed about her.
"I am quite sure. You now have to be careful and watch your health more closely. Based on my initial check-up, your baby is in good condition. But you must take good care of yourself if you want to keep it that way" she didn't quite absorbed what the doctor is saying. She is still contemplating on the fact that she is pregnant. She is carrying Vladimir's baby. Unknowingly, she touch her tummy and slowly look at it.
"I see that it came to you as a surprise but you will get use to it. You would need constant check-ups for your baby's condition. I'll set-up an appointment for you" at that point she felt drained that she only gave the doctor a nod as a response.
She went home still feeling disoriented. How can one moment of heat result to a life? How can they have a baby after the first time? She still wonder about it. And somehow she still can't believe that a baby is growing inside her. Her baby. And then she felt it, that overwhelming feeling of protectiveness. It seems that repeating to herself the fact that she has a baby suddenly makes it real and if she would be honest she knew she wanted to have a child in her life. Despite everything she said and thought when Leslie suggested that she might get pregnant, she still feels blessed now knowing she would have a child soon.
It's been more than a month since that morning. Vladimir cursed upon the realization that he has been harshed on her when he took her on the office. He thought he was better than that so he really have to try harder in apologizing to Williana. Somehow the thought of seeing her again in the new light excites him for some unknown reason.
He has been distracted lately because of his new project that is why it has taken him this
long to finally think things between him and Williana. But it doesn't mean he stop thinking of her and what she has revealed of their past.
"Hi Les! Is Williana at her office?" he asked Williana's cousin. He saw how she frowned and seem to analyze something. It is as if alot of things are running in her mind.
"Let me call her first since I supposed you didn't tol her about this visit" she stated to which he simply nods.
"Hello Wil, Mr. Montford is here and wants to speak to you. Should I send him in?" then in a few moment he saw Leslie's frown again.
"Hey Wil, are you alright? You didn't sound good" the crease of her brow deepen making him decide to simply barge in Williana's office.
"I'm okay Les. I..." she didn't finished what she was saying when she suddenly clamp her mouth shut with her hand as she hurriedly push open a door which he guessed was a comfort room.
He silently followed her inside and witnessed her emptying her stomach over the sink. Seeing her situation, he comes near her and gently taps her back. she immediately turn her head to him.
"What are you doing here?" she asked in what seem like a mortified tone but sounded so weak. Then she started to vomit again.
"Are you okay?" he asked some time later when she stopped vomiting. She glared at him.
"What are you doing here Vlad?" she demanded.
"I want to talk to you about what happened five years ago" he started.
"There is nothing to talk about" she said.
"No. We have to talk. And I'll start by apologizing for what I did in the past. I also want to apologize about what happened here th---" she became stiff then before she cut him off.
"What happened then didn't matter. Let us just forget about it" then she turned her back on him.
"You can leave now" she added. He realized that it was not the time to talk. It seems that she is not in good condition so he decided to leave but then something caught his eye as he look at her desk. Lying there was a magazine featuring a very pregnant woman who seems overjoyed. He became disoriented for a while before he decided to come closer and pick the magazine.
"What are you doing?" Williana asked him. She is still mulling over the fact that Vladimir is inside her office and he just saw her having her morning sickness. She didn't like the feeling of having him seen her in that situation.
"Tell me Williana, are you pregnant?" he asked making her look at him. He had the magazine she bought yesterday. It features pregnancy and how to become a good mother. She wanted to slap herself for being so careless.
"Having such magazine doesn't mean I am pregnant" she tried to reason out.
"Yes, but I just witnessed you having your morning sickness a while ago. Damn Williana! Are you going to hide this from me?" she understood why he might felt that way. And the truth is she haven't gotten yet to the decision whether she would tell him. She was actually surprised when Leslie informed her of his presence.
"Tell me Will" his loud and irritated voice get her attention back.
"I only learned of it yesterday. And honestly I am not yet ready to talk about it with you" she conceded. Suddenly she felt drained and so she sit on the chair near her.
Vladimir saw how she seems to loose all the energy in her body as she sat down. He then scolded himself for raising his voice and talking to her that way. He is still on the process of getting it to his mind that he is going to be a father. He and Williana is going to have a baby.
"I'm sorry Will. I didn't intend to raise my voice to you" he sighed.
"I'm still on the process of keeping up with my pregnancy Vlad. I don't want any complications. We will talk about the baby but not now" he wanted to protest against her request but seeing her weak state unarmed him.
"Okay. But we will talk about this Will. And I'm telling you, I am not going anywhere away from my child" and then he silently leave her office.
