"Why won't she marry me?" he asked his sister in frustration. It has been three days since he last asked Williana to marry him. That was in the orphanage and he can't still get over the disappointment he felt when she rejected him.
"Perhaps you are not persuasive enough" Bella responded. He only glared at his sister.
"Have you laid your heart to her? Told her that you can't live without her? That she is the only woman for you? And that you would do anything for her?" Vladimir only stared at his sister.
"Just as I expect. You knew nothing about woman and their feelings. You just thought that all a woman want in a man is a handsome face and large amount of wealth. Well we need more than that. We also need emotional security" she continued but then he didn't actually get to hear all she has to say because suddenly his mind and his emotion started an assessment of its own. And damn him for being so stupid!
"She has to marry me" he blurted out earning a frown from Bella.
"I told you that attitude of yours won't get her YES" he only smiled at her then hurriedly search for Williana.
He found her on the kitchen stirring a glass of milk. She only look at him for a brief moment before focusing on her drink.
"Do you need anything?" she asked.
"I need you" He responded and he saw how she blushed.
"Please don't talk like that" she said without looking at him and he can't take it. He walk towards her then held her chin to forced her eyes to land on him.
"I was a fool for not seeing it. I felt all the signs and yet I didn't realized what those things meant. I almost lose you and believe me I almost die when I saw you lying unconscious and barely breathing on that stretcher" he started.
Williana doesn't know what to think of what Vladimir is telling her. But she has to admit that her heart is starting to feel overjoyed hearing him open up his heart to her.
"I've started thinking how I should apologize for all the mistakes I've done in the past. I've also decided to proposed to you and plan on starting a happy family with our child. I've started planning my life with you in it, not just as my child's mother but as my life partner. I've never realized then what all those things meant" then she saw something lit in his gaze.
"I was a fool not to realized just how much you mean to me. Can you ever forgive me my dear Williana?" he asked with so much intensity she felt overwhelmed not until she realized he hadn't said what it is that he realized. What she really is to him.
"But you haven't made it clear yet what you feel for me. What am I to you Vlad?" she dared asked directly.
"Of course you are the only woman I love. Haven't I just told you how much I love you? I can't even see my life without you in it" then he looked at her so tenderly that left her with no choice but melt in his arms.
"Oh Vlad, I love you too. So much that I am thinking I can settle on just being a wife you cared for rather than a wife you so devotedly love. But knowing that you love me makes me so very happy. I could quickly say yes if you propose to me now" And then she saw him grin.
"No my dear. I won't propose to you without so much as a ring and a bouquet of flowers to offer. But don't worry I would arrange it as soon as I can" she raised a brow hearing a hint of something in his tone.
"You know I can't afford to have you change your mind" and then he pulled her closer and gave her the most gentle and loving kiss.
A year later...
She had just sang her son to sleep when she saw her husband on the door of the room.
"I'm on my way to our room" she informed him as she walks towards him.
"I missed you love" he said as he pulled her closed and enveloped her in a hug.
"But I've only lulled our son to sleep" she reminded him. They we're sleeping on the adjacent room when she heard their son's cry. She quietly slipped from his embrace and attended to Wilmer, their son.
"You are an amazing woman. Do you know that?" and here he goes again.
"I love you Vlad" she said just like how she always did whenever he said how amazing she is and how lucky he is to have her.
"And I love you too my darling wife" and then he gently led her to their room just to show her how much.
