Yang's pov

Past

I waited impatiently for the end of class so I could go to the forest. I watched as the clock ticked. "Three...two...one..." the bell rang and I was the first out the door.

I got on my skateboard and road to the forest. When I reached the edge of a cliff, I kicked up my board and sat down with my legs dangling.

"Hey Summer, it's nice to talk again" I said to the gravestone. "It's been a while hasn't it? I'm sorry I haven't been visiting..." I put my head down and looked at the grave.

"I've been searching for her again Summer. And this time, I know I'm close. I just have to take another step, then I'll find her" I said as tears threatened to spill from my eyes.

I heard a noise coming from the forest and turned to see a woman with black hair and a grimm mask on. I activated Ember Cilica and waited for her to strike.

I watched closely as she slowly removed the grimm mask. "Mother?" I whispered. She looked at me with her crimson eyes.

"Yang...we have a lot to talk about..."

Present

I don't understand why we have to move! Just because dad claims that he saw her. I don't mind, it always feels like I'm being watched over by an angel or something.

I sat in the car as dad drove. I was in the front seat with my black and yellow headphones on so I can ignore any small talk dad tried to make. Ruby was sitting in the back seat, probably listening to dad go on about the directions to the house.

Once we got there, I sat in the car for a few minutes just staring at the garage door. I waited until I heard talking to get out of the car.

I saw that Uncle Qrow was here and rolled my eyes. I opened the door and walked into the house. It was empty with a few pictures and furniture here and there. I sighed and went upstairs to check out the rooms.

The first door on the left was the restroom. The second door was a bedroom. I looked around and saw a bed with black bed sheets and yellow pillows. I looked at the window and saw that it had yellowish-orange curtains.

I threw my duffle bag on the desk that was by the closet and started unpacking. I wrote a note on a piece of paper and put on the outside of my door so everyone knows to leave me alone.

I unpacked all of my clothes and put them neatly into the dresser across from my bed. I hung up some shirts of mine then say on my bed.

I opened my phone and scrolled through the many text messages my ex-girlfriend had sent me. I deleted all of them then threw my next to me.

My name is Yang Xiao Long and I'm 17 years old. I have three tattoos and two piercings. I don't really care what anyone thinks of me anymore since I give off that bad ass vibe.

I sighed as I layed down and closed my eyes. I think I'm going to end up doing what I used to do.
