"The weather mirriors her mood as she walks home, in the cold, wet, rain.
Alone, all alone. Feeling as if no one would ever understand her, she begins to sob."
I dramatically lift my head as the rain falls onto my eyelashes.
And yes, I do talk to myself as I walk home, alone.

"She wonders, where will her life take her? Above and beyond? Or stuck working as a fast food person? She doesn't know now, will she ever? She doesn't even have a job."

"What in the world are you talking about? Are you talking to yourself?"

I whirl around to face my stalker.

"Tarzan? What are you doing here? In this weather?" I ask, water dropping from my lips as it ran down my face.

"Uhhh, I come bearing food."

I look at him skeptically.
"What food did thou bringest to thy? How shalt thy know if thou hast poisoned thy's  food?"

"Um, did I miss the memo? And no, I did not poison the food."

"Still better safe then sorry." I look whistfully at the French fries being pulled from the bag.
"Fine, more for me." He shrugs.
"Look, Derek needs Amelia for his experiment."

My eyes narrow.
"And your telling me this why?"

He runs his fingers through his hair.
"Look, I need you to do me a favor."
I eye him.
"I got you home, basically. Do me a favor now, please."
"Depends on what it is."
"I need you to take Amelia back to Derek so he can finish his experiment on her. Before you blow up on me, think about it?"
"What's in it for you?"
"He'll leave me in peace."
"And Amelia? What's in it for her?"
He looked at me like I was stupid.
"What?" I ask, thoroughly confused.
"Don't you get it? She's in love with Derek!"
"WHAT?!?!?!" My shriek filled the air around us.
"Yeah I know right?"
"You DARE lie to me to my face? Get out of here! Go go!"

Scared out of his whits he scrambled, taking his food with him.
And I continued through the rain, and thunder.

I was now sitting on my bed with Matzu doing Biology home work while Gilmor Girls played on my TV.

I heard knocking on my window and I jumped.
More knoking followed so I got up and answered it.

"What do want Tarzan?"
"Oh, I'd like to win the lottery."
"Sorry can't help you there."
"Anyway, have you thought about my question? Please don't beat me up, I'm just the messenger!"
"Yes, I've decided to tell her and she can beat you up."
I slamed the window shut.

-

The next day at school I told Amelia all about it.

"It's true isn't it Amelia? You do like Derek, don't you?"
She fidgeted.
"Amelia?"
"I-I don't know!"
"But he kidnapped us and tried to make me forget you!"
"I know! I can't decide! I don't know anymore! I might just end up liking Tarzan for pizza crust sake!"
"Okay, well, are you going to go back?"
"No. I'm not just going to up and leave my family."
"Good, well at least that's decided upon. I'll let Tarzan know."

Adam walked up then.
"Hey, are we still on for going to see Bryony after school?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, I'll pick us all up." Adam volunteered and we agreed.

-

Adam pulled up and I got in and we went and got Amelia.

We walked into the hospital and Nick was there.

"How's she doing?" Amelia asks.
"She hasn't said anything, hasn't moved, nothing."
"No bueno." I said as I sat down. "Nick, how long have you been here?" Adam asks.
"I come here right after school until dinner, then I do my home work, go to bed, and do it all over again."
Amelia was standing at Bryony's head.
I went to join her.

"She looks so, I don't know, peaceful?" I say.
"She's not dead." Amelia says.
"So you have to be dead to be peacefull?" I ask.
"No, I'm just saying, I don't know what I'm saying anymore."
"Same."
We look at each other and laughed.
It felt good to laugh.

Then Bryony's eyes opened.
And she smiled.
"Man, it's good to be back."
"Hello Bryony, how did you sleep?"
"We'll that's the thing, I didn't."
Nick was up and at her side in an instint.
"Bryony, how are you feeling? Do you need any food? Or water?"
"Water, please."

Nick dashed out of the room yelling for a nurse,  singing 'hallelujah' or what-not, while as the rest of us semi-normal robots who have been sleep deprived talked with Bryony.

Then a nurse came in and ruined our fun by asking the classic is-a-must-ask-super-annoying-question of 'what happed?'

Adam stepped out of the room to call Bryony's parents.

As Bryony began, we all listened closly.

"We'll I was standing on the railing by the waterside, posing for a picture when...."
