Shane and I later left the house in his hummer jeep. We drove into town and stopped at a super market to buy some stuff for his mom. I helped him of course. Everything went on well until when we were about to leave.
Immediately Shane and I stepped outside, a crowd of paparazzi surrounded us like crazy. Geez. They were so many I could hardly see where I was going.
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed when some of them surrounded me, with all types of questions.
Shane held my hand and we made our way to the car with a lot of difficulties.
"Yo, Shane is it true about you and Sloane? You're not together anymore?" one asked over the noise.
"Yep." Shane replied coolly without stopping.
"But why?!"
"Like she said, we're more of friends."
We reached the car but they were still on our backs.
"Shane?! Shane?! Who's the pretty chocolate girl?!" another asked. They began surrounding me again. I got scared and confused.
Shane wrapped an arm around me and pulled me away from them.
"None of your business." he replied and opened the car door for me to get in. I quickly did and he closed it behind me.
"Oh, cmon Shane tell us!"
"Or give us a clue! You wouldn't want us stalking the pretty girl right?!"
They were terrible. And the worse was, they were serious about stalking me down.
"Fine. She's my girl." was Shane's final answer as he got into the car too.
The paparazzi made even more noise.
"What's her name?!"
"Girl as in girlfriend?!"
"Is it official?!"
"Since when?!"
"Sloane knows?!"
All questions were asked. Shane simply started the car and drove off.
I was still in a shock.
"I didn't know paparazzi were this annoying."
"Now you know, honey. Welcome to my world." he held my hand and kissed it.

We'd finally reached his mom's hotel and went straight to her room. Of course I knew what to expect of the room since it was a five star hotel.
Shane's mother was a very beautiful lady and was really nice. The kind of person who didn't deserve the past life she'd had. She was very welcoming and friendly.
Surprisingly, the only thing Shane took from his mom was her well shaped nose. They didn't look very much alike.
We sat down in the living room and chatted.
"This friend of yours is very interesting Shane." she smiled sweetly at me. I smiled back shyly.
"She's a nice person too." Shane replied.
"I can see that." she then turned to Shane,c"So you're single honey?"
He smirked.
"No." he held my hand, "I'm with Shayenne now."
The lady turned to me surprised.
"Her?"
"Yes."
The woman smiled at me.
"Shane dear, please leave us alone."
Uh oh. I gulped.
"Oh um, alright ma."
He stood up and left the room. I stared nervously at my feet.
"What is your name, dear?" she asked, smiling.
"I'm Shayenne Harvey."
"Tell me everything about you."
"Everything?"
"Absolutely."
"Um, okay."
I did tell her everything. About Josh of course and my relationship with him. She listened carefully till I was done. I wasn't obliged to tell her my life, but I felt like I had to.
"Now this is strange." she stared at me.
"What?"
"How much you remind me of me."
She took a picture on the table by her and gave me.
"This is Shane's father."
My breath hitched. Now I knew why he didn't look like his mom. He took more of his dad. The handsomeness, the grey eyes, the lips, almost everything. His upper body was covered with tattoos till his neck. He had the same piercing on his brow. Shane had clearly copied it from his dad. He looked like the gangster I'd heard he was.
"He was so handsome. And Shane took all of him." I said.
"A lot." she smiled, " I'm serious about you reminding me of me. His dad was called Liam. But his friends called him Viper."
"Wow." I giggled.
"Yeah." she laughed, " He was similar to your Josh. Well almost. In his ways. The difference was, he loved me. He wasn't the jealous type or overly possessive, he just really got angry at times. I was crazy over him if I may say."
I listened to her carefully.
"Most of our quarrels had to do with his wrong life. He was involved in too many wrong things. Firearms, robbery, drugs and the rest. We were poor, yes, but to me that wasn't an excuse to rob. I had to leave. I didn't want him to influence Shane. So, I took Shane and escaped one night. Then I found a job at the Donovans."
"Yeah, I know about that."
"He told you?"
"Sort of."
"It wasn't easy. I missed him a lot. That's why when he kidnapped Shane one night, I didn't want to file a case against him. I knew he loved Shane just as much as I. I was afraid Shane would change. But luckily he repented, but his father passed away."
Her eyes watered a little and I felt bad and emotional.
"I still love him."
She wiped away the tears.
"I'm sorry ma'am." I felt bad for her.
"It's okay dear." she held my hand, " If you were able to love that Josh for so long, then you can love Shane even more. You're a great person. I give you my blessing."
She smiled at me. I felt really warm at heart. I felt she was giving me the right to be more than his girlfriend.
"Thank you." I found myself hugging her. She hugged me back.
"Shane is a nice guy. He knows how to love sincerely, though it doesn't seem like it. He plays a lot but took his father's heart of gold. He'll treat you like a princess. Trust me. I know my son. I noticed the look he gave you. You mean a lot to him. Never doubt that."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome sweetheart."
