That same Saturday, after being comforted by Keisha, I took some money and headed for the grocery store in town. New York was a big city. People walked up and down the streets, looking busy. It wasn't a place for lazy people.

I got into a store and took a basket in which I'd put the foodstuff I'd buy. I had to cook for Josh. I began my shopping and bought things like celery, meat, carrots, broccoli, potatoes etc.
-
As I walked through the store, I was surprised to see Shane at a distance. It'd been long. He seemed different in a white T-shirt. Black fit him more with that bad boy attitude he had. I approached him. He immediately recognised me apparently

"Hi, uh..." he started and I realised he didn't know my name.

"Shayenne Harvey."

"Hi shayenne." he smiled.

"So, you do your grocery shopping on your own?"

"No, no." he chuckled, "I'm here to accompany a friend."

At that moment, a sexy blonde in tight shorts came over and held his arm. She was the one shopping apparently when I noticed the basket in her hand.

"His girlfriend actually." she smiled sweetly, "Shane, start being honest with people." she teased playfully.

I looked at Shane and he gave me a guilty but playful smile.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Shayenne. He taught us once at TUOIFA." I held my hand out and she shook it.

"I'm Sloane. Shane's a stubborn guy. I hope he didn't annoy anyone at your university."

'Yes, me.'

"No." I laughed.

"I'm serious. I had to beg him to wear white today. His wardrobe is full of black and dim colors." she rolled her eyes and I laughed. She seemed to be a funny and nice girl.

"It's my style, Sloane." Shane told her.

"With me you'll wear rainbow colors if possible." she laughed.

"Do you think she's being fair?" Shane asked me. I laughed.

"Not really. Your black fits you more, I think." I complimented

"You think?" Sloane asked, surprised.

"Yeah. It fits him."

Shane smirked at me.

"You've got taste." he said slowly.

"Um, thanks."

Sloane smiled at me.

"You're probably right, Shayenne. Maybe I shouldn't try to change him."

"Yeah, probably."

'I actually like this style of his.'

she smiled again.

"I like you already." she said and I smiled back. She then turned to Shane, "Honey I'm done. I'm going to the car. Come soon."

She faced me again,

"Bye, Shayenne. Hope we meet again."

"Hope so too."

'She's kinda nice. I expected something else.'

I watched her walk out of the store. I then turned to Shane.

"Okay, I think I should go on with my shopping." I said, "I'm surprised. I thought you were single."

"I was. Sloane has been a very close friend from childhood. We officially became a couple two weeks ago."

"Oh, I see. She's nice. I like her. I wonder how she decided to date a jerk like you." I mused.

"A jerk?" he chuckled. He was even more handsome when he laughed.

"Just kidding." I laughed a little.

"Okay. This is not the first impression I had of you. You're more friendly." he replied.

"Yeah. I just don't spare those who try to knock me down with a race bike."

He laughed

"Oh, right. Sorry about that. Here's my card. Visit or call when you can. Sloane would probably like to see you again."

I happily took it. It read,

'Hollywood Productions'.

I smiled. This means I could go visit the place as soon as I was free.

"Thanks."

"No problem. And thanks for saving my skin. Black is meant for me." he smirked.

"Uh, yeah. If you believe that." I laughed nervously. That was awkward of me.

"I like that. See you later." he winked at me and left the store.

I looked at my card. I immediately stored his number before putting the card away safely.
