Chapter 6

As I slowly came back to consciousness, all I could smell was sickening amounts of bleach. My eyes wouldn't open, all I could do was smell and twitch my fingers around. I could feel a thin blanket covering my body that felt scratchy, but what was really overpowering me was the smell. I hated that aroma, it meant I was in a hospital or something of the sort.

I started regaining feeling in my left arm, that's when it started burning. I tried not to move it, but it still hurt like hell. The blood in my arm felt like it was boiling, burning through my skin straight to my bones. I wanted to scream but held it in out of habit. I didn't want to alert anyone who might be here.

The pain shocks my system into overdrive, as I shoot into a sitting position. My nose didn't lie to me, I was in a hospital room. The lights were turned down pretty low. The burn in my arm was starting to fade, and thankfully I didn't make enough noise for anyone who could be around to notice, not yet anyway.

Once my arm was no longer scorching, I tried getting up to inspect the room. What I didn't realize was that my legs had not quite woken up yet. I tried to move by bottom half but ended up face-planting on the floor instead.

"Shit," I grunted, I could hear people rushing down the hall, most likely to my room.

I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep just as the door busted open. Someone quickly came and flipped me over. My arm started throbbing, but I kept still. I heard the person above me let out a sigh of relief.

"She's still out, probably rolled over in her sleep." A male voice said. It sounded deep, but still teenage boy-esk. He was the closest to me of the (possibly) two people in the room since he had been the one to flip me over.

I heard someone else a few feet away shuffle on their feet before answering. "Well, she still sh-shouldn't be able to m-move for another few days. W-we almost overdosed her on the se-sedatives." A light female voice stated, sounding extremely scared. She sounded very young, but I wouldn't be able to fully tell until I was able to look at her.

"Well," The boy answered, "If she is who we think she is, I don't think it's possible to overdose her. Just help me get her back on the bed."

The boy moved behind me and placed his hands under my arms. It was all I could do not to flinch, I hated it when other people touched me. The girl, from what I could hear, stayed planted in place a few feet in front of me.

"I..I don't think we should touch her. May-maybe we should just leave he-r, it wouldn't make a di-difference, would it?" She stuttered nervously.

The boy chuckled "K, I took her down with a single bite, I can do it again if we need to."

Wait, what? Is he serious, it was a wolf who......... Oh...

Well, shit.

"Well, I g-guess." She muttered. I felt her hands nervously slide under my knees. The two lifted my back up onto the bed; however, the girl dropped my knees as soon as I was over the bed, but the boy set me down gently.

I heard the boy walk over to the girl. "You're fine K, you're strong enough to defend yourself, no need to stutter anymore."

The girl took a deep breath and finally stopped shuffling.

"Wait," She said, more confidently than before, " If you bit her does that me she's...."

The boy let out a frustrated sigh "Damn, I was trying not to think about that. I acted out of instinct, and that may have been a really bad decision."
