Mark's POV
I like to polish my surfboard because it makes me feel good to surf on a clean board. Plus, the surfing tournament is coming up soon (not exactly sure when) and I do it in preparation for that.
I was almost done with it, but then I heard Tony call out that my phone was ringing.
I rushed to the room and grabbed my phone.
"Ugh, fuck!" I groaned when I looked at the caller ID.
"Excuse me, Mark. We do not use that word in this house." Megan informed in that weird nice tone.
"Sorry Meg."
I answered the phone then walked out the room. "Yeah dude? What's up?"
I could barely hear what Kyle was saying because Tony was whining and complaining in the background so I went outside.
"What's all that noise dude?" Kyle asked.
"That's uh... my little cousins." Since I'm an only child, I really can't blame siblings on stuff. Tony is also an only child. "But whatcha say bro?"
"I said you still coming to that party Saturday?"
"What party?"
"You know, that party we always have a week before the surfing tournament."
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, the tournament's next week. We always have a party a week before it so we can get hyped and prepared for it. Sometimes I go, other times I don't, depending on Tony.
"Uhh I don't know dude. Depends on my parents." My parents don't care if I go or not, just gotta let them know beforehand.
"A'ight then. Just let me know soon."
"A'ight bruh. Bye." I hung up the phone and went in the house. Megan was making breakfast and Tony was complaining about how hungry he was.
"Boy, if you don't shut the fuck up, I swear I will-- oh hey Mark! I'm making breakfast, want some?"
"Sure, but I thought you don't use that word in this house."
"Yeah Mom!"
"I'm an adult, I can say what I want." Megan snapped her fingers in a Z formation.
I chuckled. "Whatcha making?"
"I got eggs, bacon, pancakes--"
"Uuuuuggggghhhhh, mommy stop, you're making me more hungry."
"Well, instead of watching me cook, why don't you go do something?"
"Because I'm too hungry to move."
"Mark, come get this idiot I call my son."
"No Mark, come get this bully I call my mother."
I laughed. "Both of y'all are crazy. Come on Tony." I grabbed his wrist and took him to his room. "I gotta tell you something anyways."
"Oh, what's up?" He sat on his bed, and so did I.
"You know how my other friends be throwing a party a week before the surfing tournament?"
"Yeah?" He was quiet for a while then gasped. "The tournament's next week! So the party is this week."
"Yeah, this Saturday. Which is in like 2 days."
"Oh, well you can go if you want. I won't be home anyways."
My eyes widen. "And why not?"
