                      3rd Person POV

As soon as the announcer was done calling out names, the surfers started going towards the water. They all stood there and waited for a wave...... but no such wave came nor they could 'feel' one come.

The surfers patiently waited but the ocean was still. The audience wasn't moving either, as the anticipation was killing them. Suddenly, a pile of water crashed into a rock, and that's when the surfers ran out to the sea.

They all grabbed their boards, slammed it into the water, got on their stomachs, and swam through the ocean with their boards, pedaling with their arms and legs rapidly. The audience cheered as a wave was starting to form, then 2.

Mark starts to stand up and balance himself on the board as the wave came toward him. He smoothly got on the wave and rode through it, performing a spin-in-the-air trick and landed splashing a few other surfers. The audience roared and the judges nodded, writing on their clipboard.

Kyle got on a wave and shredded through them, performing little twists and turns on water. The audience roared and the judges nodded at him too. Kyle got off the wave, walked past Mark, and they fist bumped.

Tony took a deep breath, and stood up on the board as a wave was coming. Another surfer ran into him, which made him fall off. The audience went "Oooh!" and the judges shook their heads. Tony rose back up to the surface and started again. A pile of water came up under his board, he balanced himself, then rode through it confidently. While riding, he squat down, reached out to the water, and it ran through his fingers.

The audience was in awe as they witnessed this. A handful of water piled up in Tony's hand, he throws it up, then takes one foot back, performing a some kind of wheelie trick with the surfboard. The audience cheered, which messed him up because he fell off afterwards. He didn't come back up immediately.

Mark's eyes widen. "Tony..." he said to himself. "Tony?" A little louder. The beach was silent now, except for Mark's heavy breathing. He started running towards the water, but Nick as Kyle held him back.

"Dude, calm down, he'll be alright." Nick attempted to comfort him, but it didn't work, as he fought himself loose from them and jumped in the water. Mark swam until Tony's surfboard bumped into him, which meant that he had to be close by, and he was. Tony's head popped up in front of him, then Mark grabbed ahold of his waist and patted his back. Tony coughed a little, then a lot. Mark pulled Tony back to shore, and gave him CPR. A few people were disguised to see a guy putting his lips on another guy, but for the sake of someone's life, no one said anything, they just witnessed.

Tony coughed and coughed until some water came up from his mouth and he spat it out. He blinked a lot and looked around. "What happened?" He asked.

Mark smiled a little. "You took a pretty sweet wipeout man."

Tony sat up and wrapped his arms around Mark's neck. In return, Mark wrapped his arms around Tony's waist. The audience cheered as Tony stood back up and the tournament went on.

The rest of the tournament went on without any distractions, other than the audience's constant cheering. Everyone has gotten a second chance to impress the judges, and Tony's second chance sure impressed them, as he did what he had done the first time, but without falling and adding twists and turns at the end of his performance.

After everyone went twice, they dried themselves off and had lunch. The surfing part was over at 3:00, which meant it lasted 3 hours. Lunch is for 1 hour, then the judges results come at the end, which usually last for 30 minutes or so.
