"Day forty-two, I'm still in Mathew's office and I think I'm starting to go mad. It feels like it's been forever since I've gotten a breath of fresh air." I groaned. To that, he sighed and rolled his eyes. "My apologies your majesty, I didn't realize I was boring you."

He sighed and put down the paper he was holding. "Would her royal highness prefer to be escorted to the kitchen where we can feast on only the finest cuisine?" He chuckled and stood up, with his tall frame towering above me. "I would find that to be most preferred my loyal servant." I grinned as he rolled his eyes. He scooped me up bridal style, which was quite unexpected. But for some reason, I don't dislike the feeling at all. In fact, I almost want to snuggle into his arms. Of course I won't.. but I'd like to.

He carried me down the hallway as well as down several corridors into what appeared to be the kitchen. He then sat me down on the counter and went through the large pantry. "What would you like?" He asked.

"What can you make?" I asked as I looked around the huge kitchen. "Well your majesty... I'm not good on a stove but.." he came out with a box of Captain Crunch and grinned. "I can make a mean bowl of cereal." We both laughed and he started making our luxurious meal. "My Queen... would it be alright if I asked for you to grace me with your presence by staying with me tonight..?" he quietly asked as he gave me my bowl of cereal while trying to make sure he didn't make eye contact.

I stared in awe at his confidence, but he turned his back to me and I could start to feel uncertainty flowing off of him in waves. "I-I mean you don't have to... I know it's soon. There's a guest room on my hallway i-if you want it.." He stuttered. As much as I want too, I just met him. Common sense matters more than my feelings.

"That's a nice offer.... but I think I'll stay in the guest room.." I said gently.
He sighed and nodded then started eating his cereal in silence. I looked out the window to see it was past dark. I wonder what the others are doing? Were they even looking for me...? Probably. I wish I could tell them that I'm safe....

"It's getting late, if you're finished..I can take you to your room." He said as he rolled up his sleeves, put his bowl in the sink, and rinsed it out.. even though he barely touched it. "Ahh... yes. I'm finished." I quickly took a few more bites, then went to rinse it out. But he picked up out of my hands and lightly smiled.

He rinsed it out and placed both of our bowls in the dishwasher. And to my disappointment... he didn't pick me back up. Instead, he began to lead the way out of the kitchen. I quietly trailed after him and did something that even I didn't expect: I grabbed his hand. My small hand was almost engulfed in his much larger one.

The tension in the air eased and within a few minutes, We stood in front of a door that I assumed to be the guest room. He opened the door and I walked inside. "Try not to dream about me too much." I laughed as he chuckled. "I always have.." he mumbled and left.

I flopped elegantly on my bed and kicked off my shoes. Well tonight was awkward.
