On his way out the door, Hoseok hears approaching footsteps from behind, and he glances over his shoulder only to see Taehyung running towards him, backpack thumping behind him heavily. Hoseok thinks it sounds like a dead body, but upon closer look, he sees the tip of a yellow penny board with blue wheels. Fitting.

“Hey you,” Taehyung says, jogging to a halt beside him. “Didn’t expect to see you here.”

“Me neither,” Hoseok says, smiling wide to hide the fact that he’d driven all the way here from the opposite end of campus just to see him. But even he won’t admit that himself. “Did you just get off work?”

“No, I’m on my glorious forty-five minute lunch break,” Taehyung says, holding up a bag with what looks like a drawing of a dick on the cover. “Oh, and ignore this. Jimin likes to leave lovely drawings on my lunch bags. He’s going to make a marvelous mother, really.”

“Aw, how cute,” Hoseok says jokingly, clutching a hand to his chest dramatically. “He even made sure to draw the left nut massively larger than the right like no one ever.”

Taehyung sighs heavily and stares at the drawing, holding the bag away from him. “Lucky aren’t I?”

“As lucky as they get.”

“I turned left on a one way street once,” Taehyung says absently. “I think that may have been luck. That, or I was just an idiot for not seeing the five ‘one way’ signs.”

“Or maybe you’re just a shortcut kind of guy,” Hoseok says, tilting his head as he considers the thought. Hoseok has done that once, back when his bangs reached his upper lip and his feet barely reached the end of his bed.

“Maybe,” Taehyung responds, scuffing the top of his shoe on the sidewalk. He nods at the bag in Hoseok’s hand that mirrors his own. “I see you're also indulging in lunch. Let’s grub together.”
