You like him?” he says calmly, looking up at Hoseok and shielding his eyes from the sun with one hand.
As if on autopilot, Hoseok shakes his head. “No,” he says. “I don’t. He’s just a coworker. We work together.”
Hoseok is aware he sounds like an idiot right now, stumbling over his own words and repeating them in different patterns, but Taehyung just stares at him for a long moment, gaze not faltering. Taehyung drops his hand and turns to gaze fixedly out at the pool, as if staring out at the ocean and wondering how far it stretched. Hoseok thinks he looks peaceful like this.
He knows things aren’t okay between them, not yet, but Hoseok takes a seat next to Taehyung anyway and stares out into forever.
“Okay,” is all Taehyung says.
