chapter 40 - happy place

I lay wake. In my bed. In danny's arms, my head on his chest listening to his heart beat. His light breathing filling the room. Jackson jumped up onto the bed, his soft paws padding along the bed before settling down between us. My hand grazed over him. My eyes scanning the room. My eyes glazed over the photos that laced the walls, the sun rays that danced round the room, birds chirped outside my window.

If this isn't a happy place i don't know what is.

The peaceful silence was broken by my phone. I reached over to the bedside table to the sound of danny moaning for me moving. It was no one important so i put it back down but was now wide awake so managed to get out of danny's snakey arms and wrapped my silk robe round me.

I made my way downstairs, turned the TV on and boil the kettle. I placed two cups on the side as the doorbell went. I yawned and stretched opening the door.

Jess: oh hi

Holly: what, uh, what are you doing here?

Jess: uh last time i checked i lived here

I turned with a smile on my face to walk back into my house.

Holly: dont be smart, what happened to america?

Jess: i didn't go, end of, coffee?

Holly: um ok, yes please

Jess: do you wanna go on holiday?

Holly: when?

Jess: now

Holly: um sure, where?

Jess: i'm thinking a throwback holiday, you know that place we used to go as kids?

Holly: yeah, oh yeah that would be great

Jess: well, say meet here packed with the boys in two hours? We can take my car down?

Holly: yeah sure

I hand her a cup of coffee as a sleepy Danny walked in, i handed him one too.

Jess: morning, we're going on holiday

Danny: morning, um we're what?

Holly: holiday, better get packing

Half asleep he briefly nodded and turned back to walk upstairs to the sound of me n holly laughing.

*Danny*

Danny: That's the last of it

I closed the boot and got in the back where apparently me and glen had been demoted too; along with jackson. We pulled off, jess driving of course, cause no one else can touch her baby.

Danny: so do we get to know where we are going yet?

They just turned up the radio to give me my answer of no. Me and Glen laughed and used the time to catch up.

Danny: camping?

Glen: we're camping?

Holly: oh shut up it will be fun, me and jess used to come here every year

Jess came back from talking to whoever about the tents,

Jess: right so you two are in that one and we are in this one over here, do you wanna dump our bags and whatever then meet round our firepit for marshmallows??

We all agreed and headed to our tents. I cannot believe she has me camping. I cuddled her from behind and whispered in her ear.

Danny: does dropping the bags of and stuff mean we have... time... for...

I started to kiss her neck which she rolled open for me.

Jess: i wish... but i really want marshmallows... sorry

I could hear her wicked smile on her lips as she bent down giving me a nice but killing view and swaying her hips out the tent. This girl is gonna kill me.

I shake my head and laugh before grabbing a hoodie and going outside. We sat on chairs round a fire pit, jess on my lap. We toasted marshmallows and chatted. I feel overwhelmed i never expected a few days ago that i would be sat here with the love of my life in my arms. I genuinely thought i had lost her, i never want to feel that again.

After a bag of marshmallows and two bottles of wine we all retreat to our tents. Stripping down to our sleep wear which was underwear we snuggled on the bed. Its glamping so we get an actual bed. I'm glad.

We snuggle close together to keep warm, no complaints here. Her sweet scent filled my nose as i kissed down her neck.

Danny: do we have time now?

I whispered softly. Her soft, delicate moan gave me my answer as i lent my hand glide over her wait and down her hips while continuing to plant kisses on her neck. She rolled towards me onto her back opening up her chest for me to continue to plant kisses on.
