Chapter24 – The kingdom under the mountain
Durin'sfolk travelled two month to the lonely mountain and on the last mileGilriel looked over her back to the city of Dale. The last time shehad seen her home she had been a child and a great dragon was flyingover her head.
Shecould still hear the sound of fire burning down the houses andscreams of dwarves and humans running for their lives to escape thenightmare.
"Gilriel?Are you okay?" Dis stoppd by the girl's side and put a hand on hershoulder. "You look scared. What makes you worry so much? We are soclose to home and I can almost hear my sons"
"Youhear them because one comes running to us" Gilriel's memories arequickly gone when Kili came running from the mountain and almostjumped at his mother. The dwarven hobbit was happy to see mother andson united and hugging and kissing each other.
Kilihadn't change since Gilriel last saw him but when it was her chanceto greet him a group of elves arrived on the way to Erebor. Gilrielwas taken aside by Dis and they stood quietly while the tall peopleon their horses past by. The hobbit didn't notice any face becausethe sun was shining into her face and so she waited until the grouphad passed. "Why did the elves come to Erebor?"
"Kili,where are Fili and Thorin? The elves wouldn't come unless there was afarewell. Kili! Where are your brother and your uncle?" Dis hit theback of her son's head and waiting for an answer while Kili tried tohide behind Gilriel. "Don't be angry but... uncle Thorin doesn'twant to see anyone and Fili is... he hasn't returned yet"
"Whatdoes this mean?"
Gilrielfelt how Kili jumped a bit behind her before he started running andleave the two women behind. "I tell them you are here and want tosee them!"
"KILI!"
