Hey guys! So this is probably the most exciting chapter of the book... I am really proud of it and really excited for you guys to read it. Anyway, I hope you like it!! Thanks for reading :D
Last time: In the Chase chapter, Sam finally decides to act on the suspicions that have risen in him regarding poor Chase, who spends the entirety of the chapter.. Basically beaten by Sam because he won't admit that he was put up to everything by the creatures, that he made a deal like Mella did. Sam leaves him in the ice box. In the king creature chapter, we find out that King creautre got the cure from Dr. Watt and Mella came crawling back to them and turns out to be their next meal.
Okay, prepare yourself, this is some crazy stuff about to go down.

I bound downstairs, Grace and Lindsay chasing after me. After about our thousandth game of twister, Grace finally decided to call it quits. At least something could take her mind off the whole Timmy and Mella incident. The truth was, I really needed it too. Sam looks up as I round the corner into the kitchen.
"Hey," he says, looking back at whatever he was doing, (which involved a small knife and a stick).
"Did Chase ever come out of the basement?"
"Why should I care?" He asks sarcastically. This makes my chest clench.
"Sam, I know you don't like him, but at least don't say that stuff in front of me."
"Lana, even if I did care-"
"Where is he?"
"I don't know."
"... Fine. I'll check in the basement," I say, walking into the music room and to the basement door. Sam jumps up from his chair and cuts me off with his body.
"Actually I think he came out of the basement and went outside."
"Outside?"
"Yeah. He wanted to be alone or something." I say nothing. "Go check for yourself. He's outside."
"That's bull Sam. No one's supposed to go outside."
"Really, he is!"
"... Get out of the way Sam."
"Actually, I don't think I should."
"Actually I think you're really pissing me off right now and you should move."
"Actually, it's for your own good."
"Actually I can decide what's good and bad for me."
"..."
"Sam, MOVE." I say authoritatively. He doesn't budge. I shove him to the side and grab the door handle, then he shoves me back and I go sprawling out onto the floor, thwacking my head on the floor and banging my teeth together. Sam bends over me and repeats the word "sorry".
I wait a second, then fling myself off the ground and rush into the basement, locking the door behind me. Sam pounds on the door.
"Lana, let me in!"
"Why?! You're not my parent!" I yell in anger, continuing down the creaky stairs.
"Lana don't you go down those stairs!" I reach the bottom.
"OOPS!" I holler. There is more pounding on the door.
"Lana!" I block out his orders and begin to excavate the basement.
... Well I don't see a guitar anywhere and Chase isn't down here either. There is no sign of him anywhere-
Cough cough! I hear. I can't tell where it came from but it scares me half out of my skin. I wait for it to sound again...
