News Part 2

Percy's point of view

The same day that Amber told me that she was pregnant a meeting was called. After we got there I noticed Apollo looking our way. I realised that due to being the god of healing he could probably tell that Amber was pregnant. I contacted him mentally, and said,

"Don't say anything, we'll tell the others when she's ready to."

He agreed and asked, "So you know then?"

I replied, "Yes, she told me this morning."

After that, I concentrated on the meeting. Partway through the meeting, I contacted Amber mentally and asked, "When do you want to tell everyone?"

She replied, "Well I suppose we could tell them now considering how different this is from when I was a mortal."

"What do you mean?" I asked wondering how different it would be for her now that she was a goddess.

She replied, "It doesn't take nine months before I can give birth, I could have them right now if I wanted to."

That news surprised me, but now I understood why she was willing to tell everyone so soon. She must want to have them soon, otherwise, she might wait to tell everyone. Another difference I had noticed only after she had told me was that she had a Small bump, but she hadn't gotten as big as she could if she was still a mortal. Her bump was still small enough that I had originally overlooked it. That made me think of something, I asked her, "If you're having twins and you could have them anytime now, Shouldn't you be showing more?"
I remembered how big she was when she had Luke, and although I'm certainly no expert on pregnancy, I would think she should be showing even more this time.
Amber replied, "I  am, I just wanted to tell you myself rather than you figuring it out yourself because I looked huge,"
That made sense, I guessed she'd probably continued to hide it for the same reason since no one else knew yet.
I decided to tell her that Apollo already knew.
I said, "Apollo already knows, he contacted me and asked if I knew,"
Amber was surprised by that news at first but she quickly realized how he probably knew.
"Do you want to announce it at the end of this meeting ?" I asked her.

She seemed to think it over before she said, Let's just tell our family, for now, we can tell the others later, I'm going to wait a little longer before having them."

I agreed before asking, "do you want to tell my parents after this meeting?"

She agreed, and the meeting continued. We didn't accomplish much during that meeting since most of the other gods were yelling at each other. When the meeting ended we all left, but instead of heading to our palace like we usually would, Amber and I went to my father's. We went in and I asked one of the neireds where my parents where I found out that my mom was in my parent's bedroom, and that my father was in his study discussing something with my brother, Andrew.

When we had gathered the three of them in order to tell them our news I said, "We have to tell you something."

Glancing at Amber I could tell that she was having a hard time forcing herself not to place her hand on her small bump.

She said, "I'm Pregnant." And she let her hand fall to her abdomen. One of my arms was wrapped around her waist, and I glanced at her. I smiled at her, before telling them, "she's having twins."

I'm sure my happiness was clearly written on my face at that moment without any of the worries that I'd had when I'd told my parents about Luke. When she heard the news my mom hugged us both, and nowadays her hugs could rival Tyson's. My dad and Andrew also seemed happy for us. After talking about it with them for a bit we returned to our palace.

 After we got there Amber stopped using whatever power she was using to hide how she really looked and I saw how big her baby bump actually was. Although she looked bigger than when she had Luke that didn't change how I felt about her since no matter how she looked she was always beautiful to me. 

"I love you," I said to her 

"I love you too," she replied.

 I kissed her and I gently touched her baby bump. I was looking forward to being a father again, especially since I would be able to be there throughout our children's lives rather than having to miss their childhoods. After we separated for air we started to talk about when we were going to tell everyone about  Amber being pregnant. We eventually decided that we would tell Luke about it the next day. I figured he would be happy about it, although I couldn't be sure.
