The morning was full of excitement and buzz between the two younger magicians. Today they would finally be getting back into the action, and not waiting around like lost lambs.

Jack shrugged on his leather jacket, a constant smile tugged on the corner of his lips. Quickly, Athena shoved her clothes into her suitcase before following Jack out of the hotel room. She wasn't going to miss it.

As they checked out, the receptionist cast wary glances at them. Athena turned away, pretending to be distracted with something while Jack hung his head low.

"Do I know you two?" The receptionist asked, raising his eyebrow as he looked over Athena.

She leant on the desk, a innocent smile on her lips. "Well, everyone tells me I look a bit like that magician, Athena Stark, and he looks a bit like Jack Wilder don't you think?"

The receptionist looked them both over, nodding satisfied, before carrying on signing them out.

Athena looked behind her shoulder, smirking to Jack as the corner of his lips twitched.

"Okay, enjoy your day."

"We will," Athena smiled at him, pushing herself from the desk and walking out with Jack at her side.

As the early morning sun cascaded down onto them, Jack grinned down at her. She looked to him, raising an eyebrow.

"You're such a flirt," he chuckled, nudging her with his elbow.

Rolling her eyes, she poked his arm.  "Only to the very best," she said jokingly.

"I'm sure you can do better than a receptionist who was practically drooling all over you," he replied, a smile still on his lips.

Quickly, Athena unlocked their black car they had used for the escape, and jumped in. "Come on lover boy, we haven't got time for your speeches."

The two drove, excited to be needed again. A part of Athena missed the other three, but she loved spending time with Jack. They had to stay separate for now, it would be to much of a risk to be seen together.

After a few hours, Athena pulled up the car. Yanking a bag from the back sheet she then gave black clothes to Jack, ranging from gloves to a hoodie.

"Put these on," Athena said, pulling on her black hoodie over her top.

Jack immediately took his top off, making Athena raise an eyebrow. "Quick to get that off, weren't you Wilder?"

"Shut up, Athena."

Once they had gotten changed into their outfits, Jack handed Athena these ridiculous goggles which they both put on. They slipped out the car and snook through the building to where the safe was hiding.

Right now, the FBI thought that this safe had gone missing. But Athena and Jack knew better, Danny had played a huge game of hide the rabbit...

Confidently, the two walked past the  man who Merritt had tricked and was currently  playing a fake violin.

The pair stood in front of the large mirror, looking up at it. Jack turned to look at Athena, who nodded excitedly.

Without a word, Jack swung his from his hands until it smashed into the glass. Athena watched in awe as the glass shattered apart, landing on the floor.

Athena walked forwards, her boot crunching on the broken glass. Once she had broken the metal door to the safe, they looked at the money in shock.

She looked over at Jack whilst he pulled his goggles from his head, an awed smile on his lips. "Holy Shit, " he mumbled, making Athena laugh. A sudden wave of sadness hit her as she stared at the safe, her heart sinking in her chest.

"What's wrong?" Jack asked, resting his hand on her shoulder.

Athena looked up at him, biting the inside of her cheek. "Well it's all over now, isn't it?" She spoke with a soft tone, but her eyes shown the sadness. "What if this was all for nothing, and we all have to go our separate ways?"

Jack thought for a moment, the same child - like look in his eyes that made him look so vulnerable. "Well the others might want to go their separate ways," he said softly, turning so he was opposite her. "But whatever way I go, I want to be with you. All my life I've been told I haven't been good enough, I'm too young or I'm too untrustworthy. But you make me feel like I'm worth something, if that makes any sense at all."

Athena smiled, her eyes brimmed with tears. She agreed, she didn't want to leave him either. Over the past few months they had been living with each other, she had grown to love the boy.

Before Athena could have a chance to answer, Jack swooped in and pressed his lips on hers. For a moment, she was froze in shock, but then gradually she melted into the kiss. Fireworks exploded between the two as the puzzle pieces connected together. It felt like a huge weight had been lifted off them as they stood there in front of the safe.

When they broken apart, Athena smiled up at him, feeling quite emotional. "I don't want to leave you either," she said in a quiet voice, and wrapped her arms around him. She heard him laugh through his nose as she held onto him tightly.

"Come on, let's go," Jack smiled, both of them pulling back.

Happily, Athena nodded and followed him to the car. So much had changed these past year, Athena thought nothing else could possibly change but her she was sitting beside a man she had just kissed. That must have been her first kiss that was with real emotion, with real care for each other.

Silently, the car pulled out from the lot, and the two began to make their ways to Central Park.

The show was almost over.
