Carin lived in a beautiful Victorian house. She had clearly taken good care of the house and given it a homely feeling. From the fireplace to the wooden furniture the house looked like one where you could raise a family. I would have been jealous if I didn't love my house-i love that I could think about it as mine-very much.

The woman in question herself looked beautiful. She had this natural beauty about her. She had Derek's eyes and I wondered why I didn't see it at the party. She was tall but not intimidatingly so. She also had cheekbone that actually accentuated her beauty rather than look ridiculous as it did in some people.

So it's nice of y'all to visit she said cutting me off my thoughts. It's nice meeting you again Maya when I'm not under the risk of being jumped by enforcers she joked with a forced laugh.

Thank you. It's nice to meet you too I said returning her laugh with a light hearted smile. I turned seeing Derek stiffen and look like a criminal under duress. Derek and I thought it'll be good to see you and discuss some things.

Then why isn't he saying anything?

Because I don't know what to say little sister Derek answered speaking for the first time since we got here. I've thought some things over and I've decided to forget the past and forgive it. We are family and twenty years us enought to atone for whatever sins you've committed and in retrospect I may have been to harsh with my judgement which was clouded in the first place. Thanks to Maya he said holding my hand I've realized this and lifted the ban. You are no longer exiled so you can leave the house, sell the house,attend all the parties of your choosing and go wild.

Thank you. Thank you so much Derek and thank you the most Maya for being my blessing. I know what I did was wrong and I can make excuses for myself but that won't make my actions all those years ago less stupid and unthought through.

I admired Carin for not making excuses as some might have done and even ate at he place. Derek himself looked relieved and happier that I'd ever seen him.

Thank you so much sweetheart for opening my eyes and giving me back my family. I owe everything to you.

You owe me nothing I answered as I sat on the chair. I love you and will willingly do anything for you.  We went to bed happier than we'd ever been that night.

The next morning I woke up to no Derek but an amazing smell was wafting from outside the bedroom so I got up a d followed my nose.  I saw Derek cooking in the kitchen. He saw me and gave me a kiss.

Wanna help me set the table? He asked. I proceeded to do that.

Breakfast was great and Derek was just as attentive as ever before if not a little more. As I was devouring the rest of my strawberry wafles, Derek suddenly held my hand.

So I've been thinking we should get married

What did you say? I asked just in case my ears were deceiving me

I'm asking you to marry me Maya. Will you?

I'm not sure Derek. I love you and I want to be with you but I'm human and you're immortal. I'm gonna grow old and wrinkled and you're gonna remain young and hot forever. Don't you think it'll be weird to have sex,kids or even a relationship with an old woman?

While on one hand it'll never be weird as long as its you I'm married to the truth is if you life mate with me-vampire talk for marriage-our life span will combine and yours will increase to match mine. So we'll be immortal,young and hot together.

Then yes I'll totally marry,have lots of sweaty sex and have kids with you.

Good. But to clarify we don't need to wait to get married to do the second one right?

Then in that case Derek said-carrying me up the stairs-lets do it right now.

As he laid me on our bed he straddled me and declared; I love you Maya

And I love you too Derek. Always and forever.
