The party actually looked normal not that I would know since I had never attended a party.

As we walked in every eyes were on us making me more self conscious than I already was. I wasn't  comfortable being stared at like I was dinner and I told Derek this.

Sweetheart everyone is staring at you not because they want to drink your blood not that it isn't enticing cuz it is but because you are the most beautiful person in this room.

The party passed in a blur with so many people greeting Derek and I am while giving me curious  stares probably wondering what he was doing with a human on his arm.

I had so much fun as I danced with practically every guy at the party while Derek watched like an overprotective father casting hateful glances at my dance partners. I was so glad that I had taken a free dance lesson at school when I was  fifteen so I didn't embarass myself.

So what was that? Derek asked dragging me out of my reverie.

What do you mean?

I mean one minute you're bloody nervous and the next you're throwing yourself at every guy at the damned party.

Excuse me but they asked me to dance and I thought you wanted me to have fun.

Yeah well it was too much fun from where I was standing

What the hell does that mean Derek?

You are so naive. The only reason all those guys asked you to dance was because they wanted to get in your panties.

So what are you saying is that a guy can't ask me to dance except he wants to sleep with me?

No. That's not what I meant he said just as the car stopped.

How did you ever take me as your date if you thought I wasn't good enough to even dance with.

No wait Maya I didn't mean it like that but I was already running inside the house tearfully.

Once I got to my room I closed my door and pulled off everything I was wearing cleaning the make-up off my face I put on the biggest shirt I could find which came up just before my knee and I got into bed.

Minutes later there was a knock and I yelled at whoever was there to go away and just as I expected Derek entered anyway.

Why knock if you are just gonna open the door and besides I still hate you I said

I don't think you do but either way I wanted to give you this he said producing a small gift box from his pocket which he gave to me

I opened it and saw the most exquisite bracelet i had ever seen.

It's beautiful Derek. I love it so much

It used to belong to a princess 300 years ago who was almost as beautiful as you Maya

When I looked at Derek the was tears in my eyes but I didn't care all I wanted to do was kiss him senseless but instead I kissed him on his cheek. Thank you so much, no one has ever given me something even half as beautiful I said meaning every word.

I am sorry for what I said In the car its just that I was so jealous at how happy you were with those other guys.

Jealous? Why would you be jealous?

Because I want you to be that happy with me.

I am happy with you Derek

You are? He said looking so unsure.

Yes I am.

I'm happy too sweetheart. The most happiest I've been in a long time. I love you Maya and I know its too soon but I love you. Whe n I saw you dance with those other guys I wanted to strangle them. I couldn't get you out of there fast enough and

I didn't wait for him to say anymore before I kissed him hard and long. The kiss was intense as we both put our hearts and emotions into it.

I love you too Derek. I love you so much.
