Chapter 13

As we entered our shared room I turned to face Derek. We had only began sharing his room(because it's bigger than mine)for a week at his insistence. He had continually needled me to share a room and I'd have normally found that irritating but I thought it was adorable which only goes to prove how head over heels in love with him I am.

      I'd ask you how the friend you supposedly went to see is but you and I both know he doesn't exist so let me just cut to the chase. Where'd you actually go and don't lie to me Derek I beg you don't. I've told you about my past and you know it'll crush me if you lie to me so tell me the truth Derek.

      When I turn to see the look on Derek's face it is one of resignation. You're right sweetheart I did lie but for good reasons and I will tell you everything but not now Maya after dinner I'll tell all but please give me some time.

      Fine! I'll wait till after dinner but I need you to be completely honest with me and tell the entire truth.

      I promise Maya I will he replies

      Three hours later we come back him from an outing with Nick and go up to prepare for dinner. As we come back down Derek grabs my arm on the stairs but not harshly or even enough to hurt a little bit and looks me in the eye and tell me he loves me.

         I respond in same and we walk down the stairs together holding hands and I know that moment that no matter what happens Derek and I would be okay.

      Dinner isn't as awkward as I expected intact it's the exact opposite. It's obvious that it could never be a dull moment with Nick. The guy could melt ice with his attitude. He was fun and adorable and completely down to earth despite his obvious wealth. I learnt that he and Derek had been friends for 300 years and I wondered what would have become of Derek and I by then as I obviously couldn't live that long and he was immortal. After our three course dinner we watched Cameron Dallas' expelled and called it a night

      When we got to our room we got ready for bed and both sat on the couch. When I saw the expression on Derek's face I knew that whatever this was it wasn't good but I needed to know so I braced myself for whatever he was going to say.
