I was hungry. But I was also afraid to go downstairs and it wasn't like I had never been hungry before infact whenever they felt I misbehaved my foster parents refused to feed me.

An hour later I heard a knock and the door opened to reveal a smirking Derek carrying a tray of food.

You know there's no point in knocking if you're just gonna open.

Whatever. I thought since you plan on starving yourself all because of a little kiss I might as well bring you food: he said placing the tray on the bed.
