She got excited and skipped down the steps to the dining room. The maid gave them each a pancake, eggs, sausage, and some strawberries. They have the same breakfast every morning everybody started to eat even. "Ms. Baker did anyone show up to look for us yet?" Annie was hoping that the day would come. "No dear I haven't had any phone calls. But it will come soon enough when all of the adults coming in to adopt sweet children like you." She smiled, Annie lost her appetite and pushed her plate away. "I need to go to the bathroom." Annie got up and went upstairs to the girls room and started to pack her things. Annie checked to see If the coast was clear and carefully walked out of the door. She ran as fast as she could far away from the orphanage she decided to look for her parents on her own. "Excuse me sir have you seen my mom and dad?" The man shook his head no. "Mam have you seen my parents?" The old lady looked up at Annie. "What do they look like honey?" Annie shrugged her shoulders. "Oh then I don't know where they could be, good luck finding them!" Annie smiles and kept running. It got cold and Annie was shivering it was getting a little bit dark so she needed to find some shelter. She never wanted to go back again to the orphanage. Annie didn't have a jacket to put on so she decided to go to the fire where the homeless people were. "Annie?" Ms. Baker was looking for her since this morning. "Have any of you guys seen Annie?" The girls shook there heads no. "Ok I'm going to call the cops at once to look for her!" Ms. Baker rushes to the phone. "This is the police department what is your emergency?" Ms. Baker tried to keep calm. "Uh there is a little girl who went missing she has red hair, freckles, and she is about ten years old, she is also wearing a red and gray dress with a silver locket. I hope you can find her please officer I have been searching for her all day. I think she ran away I'm so worried sir if you find Annie please send her to The Orphanage Adoption center." She told them the address. "Ok on the way!" They hung up. "All right little ones go to bed!" The boys went to the boys wing and the girls went to the girls wing. They all got into there beds and went to sleep. "What do you think happened to Annie?" Patty whispered. "I don't know but when they find her she might be in big trouble." Patty nods her head. "She's always running away." She rolls her eyes and falls asleep. The next morning the door bell rings. "Is this the girl you were looking for?" Ms. Baker looks at Annie in surprise. "Yes it is! "Annie what you done running away from home is wrong! Your punished and I want you to mop the floors and make is shine." Ms. Baker gave Annie the mop, bucket and she started mopping. "You had me worried sick Annie! I hope you don't ever do it again." Ms. Baker went back to her office closing the door. Her telephone rang. "Hello? Orphanage Center speaking!" She smiled. "Yes I would like to come in and make an appointment. I'm interested in looking to adopt a child today." Ms. Baker gets excited. "Yes and what is your name sir?" As she took out some paper. "My name is Michael Jackson." She wrote down his name. "So Mr. Jackson is there a specific age group of children your looking to adopt?" Michael giggled. "Well yes Ms I was wondering if you have children around age 8-10 years old I would also like a child who has the same interest as me." She started writing more. "Well ok Mr. Jackson please come in today at three o clock sharp! See you soon!" Ms. Baker rushed out of the office to Annie. "Annie I have good news!" Annie smiled. "I'm off punishment?" Ms. Baker frowned. "No but someone is coming in to adopt today!" Annie hugged her tightly. "Thank goodness I hope this person is nice! I can't wait." Annie continued mopping the floor. "Good I want to make sure you look good after you mop the floor dear." When Annie was done mopping she went to Ms. Baker she was getting all of the other children ready. "Good your done." Hours later Annie was done looking presentable. The door bell rang. "Behavior yourself." She gave them a serious look. "Hello Mr. Jackson welcome." Michael Jackson walks into the hallway and into the office. "So I would like you to fill out a couple of paper work Mr. Jackson it'll give me an idea of who you are." He nods and started writing. Michael's long curls fell onto his shoulders he was wearing an all white suit with a blue shirt, penny loafers and a white fedora along with a black ribbon rimmed around it. "So let me show you around." Michael handed back the paper work. "You look very professional." As Ms. Baker checks out his suit. "Thank you Ms." They walked upstairs to the boys wing. "Anyone to your liking?" The boys were rough housing and some were playing board games with each other. "Hello." Michael waved at them. "Hello nice to meet you sir." A boy with brown hair and crystal blue eyes approached. "I'm good you seem like a nice man." The boy smiles. "He's very bright and energetic you know." Michael nods and they walk to the girls wing. "Hello sir my name is Annie." Michael takes her hand and shakes it. "Nice to meet you Annie." He keeps walking by looking at the other children he might be interested in adopting be he can't seem to connect with any of them. Michael thought about how Annie can be the perfect daughter for him he knew he had to go back and talk to her. There is something so different about Annie then all of the other children he could be adopting right now. "Annie?" She turned around smiling painting pictures. "Yes sir?" Michael was amazed at her art work. "Wow your an excellent artist please let me adopt you, I'll be the best father you ever had! I feel to connected with you I can do art as well. "Congrats Annie your adopted!" Michael and Annie hugged again. "I'm going to miss you Annie." Ms. Baker cried. "Don't worry I'll be back to visit one day."
