I open my eyes to see hazel ones and dark brown hair that belong to a face I haven't seen in a while.

"Hey, Maxi, are you feeling OK?" His voice is so nice to hear compared to the nightmare I just had.

"Uh..." Is all I can get out, it feels like my tongue is numb. I try to move my head, but a searing pain stops me.

"Woah, woah, don't try to move right now, you have a really bad concussion." Tears collect at the corners of my eyes and I let them fall freely as an overwhelming sense of guilt racks my body.

"It's going to be alright, your safe right now," his gloved hands rub my cold ones and he smiles.

"Is there," I cough from the dryness of my mouth," any water?" He gets up and grabs a cup near the corner of the room and brings it to my lips to drink.

"Danke shon, Adam, what are you doing here?" He looks at me and sighs.

"I'm, uh, part of the 198, I kept the ability to move earth and the objects inside it." I try to nod my head, but it just explodes in pain, causing me to wince. His eyes are full of worry and I can see how much he cares about me, even though we haven't seen each other in years.

"Did I hurt anyone when I..." I don't, can't, finish the sentence, I don't know what happened when I blacked out.

He cringes and I think I know the answer.

"Well, uh, you didn't hurt any mutants..." I sigh and close my eyes, just to open blurry ones, I can't hold back my tears.

"Wh-who did I hurt?" I can't keep the emotion out of my voice.

"It was a MRD, you..." He's cut off by the door opening and closing, followed by footsteps and the person comes into view.

"Hey kid, ya doin' better?" Logan asks and stands next my bedside.

"I... I don't know, I... I just don't know, did I kill the MRD?" I ask him and he frowns and turns around to Adam, grabs him by the shoulder and drags him out of the room. I hear muffled voices from outside of the now closed door.

They come back in, Logan's angry and Adam's blushing. I look expectant at them, hoping they'll answer my question but also hoping they won't.

"We're not going to tell you whether he's died or not." Logan's answer is enough for me to know what I did and I can feel myself reacting before I actually do.

Adam

Her face shows a look of horror and disbelief, I can't believe I caused this, why did I ever tell her?

Logan Howlett

I don't know if she remembers the other timeline or not, but I hope she doesn't, for the sake of her sanity.

Maxine Lehnsherr

This is just like what happened with Ethan, someone's dead, because of me, what if it had been Bobby, or Warren who I'd killed? How would I even live with myself?

"Maxi, are you OK?" Adam asks me and I nod slowly. I look at Logan's face and he's frowning, he sees right through my lie, and it's because he remembers the other timeline also.

"I'm going to try to get up again," I say and move my head before they can object. There's a throbbing pain but I push through it and lift myself off the bed. I stumble and grab onto Adam's outstretched hand.

"Thanks." I mumble and walk over to the door, only to be blocked by Logan.

"Where are you going?" Not again, the last time this happened I was stuck in a cave.

"I just want some air to clear my head." I go to step out again and he puts a hand on my shoulder.

"Adam, leave us real quick, will ya?" Adam goes out of the room and Logan frowns at me.

"What do you remember from the other timeline?" He's almost angry.

"Everything." I say while staring off in the distance. I can't help but think about everything that happened, the death, the trauma, it all comes rushing back at me with the force of a truck. He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose.

"What am I going to do with you?" He breathes out and and sits on the edge of the hospital bed.

I shrug my shoulders and try to stretch my wings without knocking anything over, my legs are already tired so I sit down on the floor and bury my head in my hands and think back.

"No." Logan looks up with concern in his eyes.

"I'm not going to let this, or my past, define me." I stand up with a determined look in my eyes.

"What are you planning on doing?" He asks and I look at the door.

"I'm going to try and end this war."

"How..."

"I don't know, but I'm not going to let it rage and push me around." He raises his eyebrows and I try to walk to the door, but I stumble and fall to the floor.

"You might want to rest a little before you go out to save the world." Logan bends down and helps me up.

"Ja..." I'm blacking out? How?
