I'm reaching for a door, and pull it open to find a dead Captain America next to a grieving Iron Man. The door slams and I jump up, awake.

"Woah, hey, it's just me, kid." Logan says and I try to get up, only to sit down again.

"How long was I out?" I ask.

"About... A week, we had you on life support, we weren't sure whether or not you'd make it." I frown and sit up, pulling my knees under my chin.

"How did it happen?"

"A blood vessel in your brain ruptured and you almost bled out, I don't remember what it's called th..." I interrupt him with a whisper.

"Hemorrhage?" It comes out as a whimper and I can feel the blood pounding in my head.

"Yeah, that's it, are you feelin' ok?"

"Um, I don't know, I had this weird dream..." The door opens again and Adam walks in talking to the man who was just dead.

"So, you think she can help us?" Captain America says and Adam nods his head yes.

"She's an amazing fighter, I don't even know what all her powers are yet." He looks at me and smiles, I smile back and I feel like something's bubbling inside me.

"What are you guys talking about?"

"Well, I'm going to need some help with protection, and I was told that you're the best candidate for the job." Shock runs up my body.

"You want me, to protect you?" I can't believe they're asking me to do this.

"Yes...?" I look at them in disbelief.

"I have hemorrhage, I probably won't be able to do anything." They look at each other and whisper in each other's ears.

"We have a solution to that, but you might not to like it." I frown at them.

"Which is...?"

"Magic." My eyes widen, Cap was right, I don't like that idea.

"Who would be doing this?" They trade glances.

"Her name is Christin, she goes by Muse, and she's waiting outside the door." My lips tighten and I sigh.

"Let me meet her." They let her in and she's a petite girl with glasses and long brown hair.

"Hi, I'm Muse, you probably already knew that, but I'm just going to tell you in case you didn't." She sprints over to the table and grabs my hand to shake it.

"Oh, hello, Uh, what do you do?" She smiles.

"I'm glad you asked, my music creates different spells which range from instant death to uncontrollable laughter," She pulls two cases and a folder out of her jacket,"I only know how to play Clarinet , so we're going to see how this healing spell goes."

She continues to put her instruments together and starts to flip through some sheets in the folder.

"Wait, I don't know if I want to do this yet..." she continues.

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing, I healed Steve and he trusts me, so you'll be OK." She motions for me to lay back down and I slowly comply.

"What will happen if something goes wrong?" She smiles.

"I'm serious, you don't have to worry about anything like that, I haven't missed a note or squeaked in... well, let's just say I'm good." I look at her with panic in my eyes.

"That doesn't necessarily reassure me..." but before I can say anything else she shushes me and starts to play her Clarinet. My eyes close and I drift off in a dream like state.

Logan

"Is she healed?" The kid just looks asleep.

"No, that was just a sleeping spell that can't be broken by anyone but me." I don't trust this Muse character, I don't trust magic in general, this was a horrible idea.

"Why?" I growl, and make everyone uneasy.

"Because if I don't, it's going to hurt her even more than she has been, and that will completely defeat the purpose of healing her." I frown at her.

"Alright, just get it over with." She opens another case, brings out a larger Clarinet, and starts to play it.

Almost immediately blood starts trickling out of Maxi's nose and I jump up to stop Muse, but a hand lands on my shoulder.

"She's going to be fine, but if you mess Muse up then I can tell you that she could die." Cap says, and I huff and sit down in a chair next to the kid's bed.

It's been 45 minutes and the Muse still hasn't stopped playing, the blood has dried on Maxi's face and it looks like nothing is happening. Until the music stops and Muse takes a huge breath.

"That's the shortest I've ever had to heal someone before." I can tell even Cap is shocked.

"I guess that just means she's tough." I say.

"That means she has a healing factor." Muse replies.
