There shouldn't be screams coming from Maxine's holding room, what are they doing to her? I don't usually sing for my spells but I might need to save her, so I start to sing one of my favorite musicals, Jekyll and Hyde (This is the Moment). The handcuffs unlatch, I run over to the door, I throw it open and rush into the cell to see some guy on top of Maxine with a knife in her face.
I jump on top of his back and break his neck with the twist of my arms. The knife clatters to the ground and I see blood pulsing from her face, the mark is too much for me to comprehend. A swirl of flesh, but I don't have time to heal her, cause I already hear footsteps running down the hall.
"Oh shooty shoo-" The sound of the door banging against the wall stops me from finishing my sentence and men with guns fill the room. I lean over to Maxine to try and wake her up and her eyes flutter when I shake her shoulder.
"Can I borrow your sword?"I whisper. She nods her head slowly and it just appears in my hands.
"Oh ho ho ho, this is so awesome!" I say while jumping back and forth on each of my feet, making her smirk, but the soldiers confused.
"Ha ha!" I laugh while striking one of them down in a spray of blood, and shots ricochet throughout the room. The sword almost blocks them without me doing anything.
I leap into the air and tackle a section of them, making sure the sword finds their necks. My hands find one of the still living ones and I pull him up in front of me as a shield. The shooting ultimately stops, leaving nothing but silence and the still lingering smell of iron in the room.
"Christie, stop!" Steve. He's still here! I run up to him and let myself breathe him in as we hug, his strong arms holding me and my actions catch up to me. No. I am a fighter, a protector, and whoever gets in my way pays the ultimate price. Their life. But I can't hold my tears back and they splash into his red and blue suit.
There's too much blood, and there always will be. A sound, a crack and he crumples to the ground, making me scream in surprise. The soldier still has the butt of his gun raised where Steve's head just was. His blood now mixes with others.
"What the heck?!" I yell and drive my sword into the man's shoulder. It's not like I want to kill anyone else.
I reach down and feel for Steve's pulse and it's still there. A hand touches my shoulder and I look up to see Maxine trying to lean on me for support. Her cheek is easier to make out now and The shape is almost that of a flower.
"Did he do this to you?!" I say to her and she stumbles off the table and I can tell it's difficult for her to say yes. This organization is definitely not one of the law. And then I see it, the red sign that squeezes the life out of anything it can get it's tentacles on, Hydra. Now I'm not so hesitant to kill these traitors. I get up and start towards them when A hand grabs my ankle, and my eyes dart to where the intrusion is and I see that Maxine is shaking her head.
"Don't... The window." She barely whispers and my eyes quickly scan the area and a green dot is moving around, then a bullet-like shape breaks through to pierce the chest of one of the men. Several more find their way to the others.
I grab Maxine and help her up and I try to lift Steve but it's a little much for me.
"Maxine, get out of here." she staggers to her feet and stumbles towards the doorway.
"But, you need help-" I cut her off.
"Yeah, and so do you, but not from the Avengers, find Adam and Bobby and go as fast as you can." Her head nods and she leaves the room before the window breaks and a red headed figure is in front of me.
"I've got eyes on Cap and one of his associates." Nat says into her com.

I run with an obtrusive limp every now and again until I reach the cell that holds Adam, I can see him through the bars.
"Adam, I'm coming in." He lifts his head and I see a large bruise on his left eye and blood trickling down his lip. I break the door down after basically dissolving it with some microbes and rush in to his side.
"Hey, where else are you hurt?" I ask him as he moves; I can see him cringe.
"I think they broke one of my ribs." I place my hands on his side and feel the bones grind against each other. My power surges forward in a wave of emotion and the lines on his face disappear with the bruise and the cut on his lip. He inhales as if he has been holding his breath.
"I know where Bobby is, though I'm kind of tied up." I hear the handcuffs clang against the metal chair and I open them with the same thing that opened the door. He reaches down to rub his wrists and looks up with a frown on his face.
"Maxi, who did this to you?" His fingertips find their way to my cheek, tho one I had forgotten about.
"We can't talk about it right now, we have to go help Bobby." He nods his head and we both leave the room to the next cell where Bobby is sitting. When he sees me he jumps up and the hand cuffs fall to the floor, frozen.
"What happened to your face?" His eyes show concern and curiosity.
"I'll talk about it later, but right now, we have to go before the Avengers find us." We all run out of the room and climb up some steps and run down a hallway and run around a corner and run out into the sunlight that feels too good to be true.
