Today is the day that Zeke chooses his forever faction. Even though I know that he will choose Dauntless there is always the chance that he switches. Zeke might be one of my annoying brothers but he is my brother and I do love him no matter how annoying he is. With my dad always gone Zeke has become a father figure to me and Uriah. I can't lose my brother. He has to stay.

Kids, my mom yells to us. Time to go we can't be late to Zekes ceremony. He's already there.

Okay! Uriah and I yell back in sync.

All the way to the train and on the train Uri and I goof off and push each other around. But once we get to the hub we completely stop and are quietly panicking about Zekes ceremony. What if he does pick another faction? What would we do at Dauntless without him there to keep us in check. My dad Amar, he's a good dad and all but we never really see him. He is a Dauntless leader and Dauntless born initiate trainer. So if Zeke picks Dauntless he will see dad more.

We walk into the hub in a big group. Behind the Dauntless section stand all the Dauntless borns one of which is Zeke standing next to Four. Zeke spots us and smiles as he takes a seat. We leave 3 open seats next to us so there is space for Zeke, Four, and Jack foster who is fours dad.

I tune out most of the ceremony until I hear a weird name get called, Tobias Eaton. The speaker who's name is Marcus Eaton calls out. The weird thing about it is that Four went down and chose. As I'm trying to figure out why he has an abnegation name he has already made his way down there. As Marcus hands Four the knife he grips his wrist hard. Marcus whispers something in his ear. Four looks mortified and surprised. He quickly chooses Dauntless and takes his seat leaving a space between me and him for Zeke.

Hey, I ask gently while placing my hand on his shoulder. Are you okay? You seemed shocked up there.

I'm fine. He snaps.

He always snaps at me. He has never really liked me and I don't know why. I decide to get the bottom of it and make him like me. No, you're not I can tell. I'm not sure why you don't like me, but I would like to know what happened down there so I can try to help you out. Even if you don't like me I still want to help you because I want to be friends and I help my friends so just tell me what happened so I can do my job. I'm surprised I get that all out in one breath.

You promise you won't tell Zeke. I nod my head while staring into his eyes. I never notices how unique his eyes are they have the perfect ratio with dark blue that fades inward to light blue. His eyes easily captivate me and we are stuck staring into each others eyes. The only thing confusing me is that he is staring straight back into my eyes.

Once we both are broken from each others trance he says I'm from abnegation. My father, he points to Jack, is my adoptive father because that guy, he points to Marcus, gave me up. I don't know why.

I'm shocked and frozen in my seat. I finally get enough courage to slide over a seat and take fours hand. He looks like he was going to pull back before I could. That is until we felt the sparks. Then we couldn't help but look up at each other and get lost in each others eyes again. We stay in each others trance until Zeke gets called. We surprisingly look to the center at Zeke, but keep clenching our hands together neither one of us daring to let go. I was so lost in what was happening that I didn't notice Uriah glaring at me and Four.
