Chapter 5: Her Muse.
The next day at school was going pretty well. Shay and I had the same classes before recess so that was good.
It was at recess when I saw Mia was waiting for me at our usual spot. Immediately my good mood vanished.
“Look Summer, I’m sorry for being a bitch. Things have just been all over the place for me at home and I have been taking it out on you guys.” She apologized. One thing you should know is that Mia never apologizes.
I think about it and decide it’s not important anymore so I just smile and accept her apology.
“It’s cool Mia. Anyway I have to go to Art now so I’ll see you at lunch?” I questioned shifting my weight onto my left side.
“Yep. Okay thanks Sum. Have fun.” I watched as she sauntered away and shook my head confused.
Okay I was not expecting that but I’m happy it she apologized. I hate fighting with my friends. They are the only things keeping me sane at home.
I looked at the time and saw that I had 2 minutes to get to the Art block, which was on the other side of the school.
I ran the whole way and just stepped through the door panting when the bell went.
“Just on time Summer. Take your seat.” Ms. Rain said sending me a smile. I grinned back at her and dumped myself in the seat next to a boy called Oliver.
“Okay class. This terms project is going to be worth 40% of your semester 1 mark so I suggest you listen carefully.” Ms. Rain started.
“I’m going to get Claudia to hand around the marking criteria while I speak. The topic is portraits. Basically the only guidelines to your project are that it has to be a series of hand drawn portraits, it has to be of only one person but in different poses and minimum of 3 drawings all drawn with different styles so it is going to test your ability in more than one area.” She continued.
I felt excitement swell up inside me as I listened more.
“Oh and it can’t be of your self. It can be any size you would like and you can use any equipment of your likings.”
I frowned a bit when I heard that it couldn’t be our selves. That was going to create a problem because I don’t know when I am going to get the time to draw somebody else.
When I got the sheet I went through the criteria and started planning.
My favourite way to draw is with Charcoal so that can be one technique but choosing the techbiques is easy, it's finding some one who inpsires me enough and will agree to be drawn is what is going to be a bitch to find.
That was the easy part. Now I have to choose someone.
