Alexander's POV

"You have to go and talk to her, Alex" Chase said giving me a knowing look

I glared at him "I know I have to talk to her. But how do I know she wants to talk to me?"

He rolled his eyes "oh come on dude. You can't seriously be one of those guys, can you?"

I frowned "what are you yammering about?"

He sighed and shook his head "It's been three weeks Alex. I think it's about time you put on your big boy pants and talk to the girl"

I sighed "But what about Maria?"

He raised an eyebrow "What about her?"

"I told you she came to me last week"

"Yeah, so? She's okay Alex. You can't let one little mishap in the past affect your present and future. You're better than that"

I shook my head "You don't understand Chase. I can't let another person waste her life just because I was stupid enough not to notice her......"

He looked me in the eyes, his wild eyes burning into mine, daring me to look away  "do you love her? Soraya I mean"

I paused.

Do I love her?

I mean I've only known her for a month. Isn't that a bit too early for love?

Nah. I don't love her.......I just really really  like her......a lot

"I don't know. Is that even possible? It's only been a month"

"Look man, all I know is, she makes you happy. Even if that only lasted for the two weeks you guys talked. But honestly, you've been way too grumpy and snappy lately and if talking to her will fix that, then DO IT"

"Fine. I'll talk to her tomorrow"

He shook his head "no, talk to her today. We both know you'll just keep postponing this"

"Alright I will"

"Good. Now imma get outta here before my father figures out I'm not at the office"

I chuckled "yeah you better get going"

He grinned at me before showing himself out of my office.

Chase's father, Alvin Daniels, is one of the best lawyers Florida has ever seen. Chase is working his way up to be like his father, already being an excellent lawyer at 24.

Unlike Chase, I don't have a world renowned father pushing me to perfection. I push myself to be the best. My parents died when I was fourteen and I've been on my own ever since. Social services helped a little but I was on my own for the most part. I put myself through the rest of my high school, got a scholarship to Harvard and now I'm a proud billionaire and the CEO of Alexander Corps.
