Hey people. It's me here again; 14 and still rocking it. Lol. I started this story cuz I wanted something to focus on if I had writer's block on my other stories. I hope you enjoy ;)Kentucky
"Are you sure you've got everything you need?" Pete Andrewson asks his beautiful daughter. She was about to go to New York and was only twenty two years old. No matter how old she was, she'll always be daddy's little girl.
"Yes dad" she says exasperated. He's been asking her this for the past 10 minutes. She knows she's going to a new state without her dad to help her settle in but she's a big girl, she can handle it.
"Are you-" he asks for the fifth time. His whole exterior exudes anxious and nervousness.
"Dad!" She couldn't help but scream. She knows that her father is the only one she has and he means the world to her. But sometimes living in a small town can be suffocating. Okay, most times. She wants to live life to the fullest knowing that you only live life once. If someone is gone, that person is gone forever. She'd been in that position so she knows better.
"It's just that my little girl will be leaving home" he said with tear filled eyes.
"I'm not a little girl anymore dad. I'll be fine. I know New York City is a big ol' city but I'll survive" she tells him with so much determination. She wonders who she was trying to convince, herself or her dad.
"Your mother would be so proud of you" he says going to a distant memory. Looking at her with so much pride in his eyes.
"Yeah, mom would've been proud." she smiles softly remembering some memories.
"Okay, let me not keep you waiting. Bye Bebe" Her dad says tucking her thick mass of hair behind her ear and pushed his hands into his overall jean pockets. Which he wears when out in the farm.
"Bye dad," she hugs him. Afraid of letting go but knowing she had to to attain my life long dream. "I love you
" she says full of emotions."I love you too sweetheart. And I'll miss you Bebe!" He shouts out when she started walking to the awaiting cab that'd take her to the airport.
"I'll miss you too dad!" She yells back and wave at him.
Pete watched his young daughter disappear from view, leaving him alone and bereft. He remembered all those times he played games with his little angel. Now she was all grown, looking for her own stuffs to do. Her own games to play. He shook his head. She looked like her mother so much. He was forever going to miss his darling wife and he hoped that his daughter would make time for him among her busy career. That she would not forget her roots and who she was in such a world.
Author's Note
Okay so this is the prologue and it's short cuz it's a kind of introduction to the next chapter which would be where her life begins anew but all in one, I'm making this a short story. Even though I'm confident in my writing, some of the chapters might be boring and crappy so I'm warning you in advance. And I also wanted to say that my author's note shall come once in a blue moon.
