It was a hot summer day when I decided to go to Six Flags Great America in my home town of Chicago. I had a season pass so it was no problem for me. Surprisingly, it was quite barren that day. Only about 1000 people were there instead of the usual 100s of thousands. Apparently there were some accidents at a few of the other Six Flags parks recently, so that might have had something to do with it. We have 3 signature rides: American Eagle, The Whizzer, and The Demon, my personal favorite. It has 2 vertical loops and a double corkscrew, which was new at the time it was built. It's also is of the most beautiful roller coasters out there. I decided to watch it, so I bought myself a pop, and sat down on a bench to witness its majesty. I witnessed something alright, but not what I wanted to see. As the car came to the first vertical loop, it stalled, leaving passengers hanging on the top of the loop. Then, I heard a "tssss" as the shoulder harnesses came up, making the passengers fall 20 feet onto a rock decoration, breaking their skulls. I guess Great America isn't the worlds cleanest park anymore.
