*August 2nd, 10:26am*

I awoke with a kick in my side. As I opened my eyes, I saw where the pain was coming from. Trix was looming over me with a foot on my chest.

"Get up you dirt bag," said Trix. She had obviously noticed her white hair. While older people with abilities, such as Dylan and I, could control their powers, younger people have much less ease using their powers. Trix could only change her appearance about every day, and I've "ruined" her perfect hair. I knew I'd get fussed at for accidentally changing it.

"How do you know it was me?" I knew she did, but I love to always pester her.

"You.. you were the only one up. I saw you," she said not confidently.

"Dylan was up."

"Yeah," Dylan said, obviously picking up on what I was doing.

"So you don't know it was me," I said with a rather smug look on my face.

"Ugghh," she yelled as she flipped me off and stormed out of the Outhouse, most likely to run up to the Artemis house for breakfast. The Outhouse is what we call our strange train-car-house. It's outside of the Artemis house. It doesn't actually have a bathroom, but the name kinda makes since.

"I guess we should head up too," said Alex. He had a sad look to him. He hadn't discovered his abilities yet, if he had any. He usually became depressed when we talked about our powers. After Dylan and Alex's mother found out about Dylan's abilities, she cast them both out without a glance of Alex showing any powers.

"Okay. Let's start heading up there before we miss breakfast," Dylan sighed, noticing her brother's sadness. As we caught up to Trix, she gave me a death-glare, but she let us walk with her.

After a few minutes of walking up driveway, we reached the Artemis house. Its gray brick walls clashed with the bright, beautiful garden connected to it. We walked up to its black door and knocked. A woman with brown hair and green eyes answered the door. Mrs. Artemis. Her black, horn rimmed glasses were setting upon her freckled nose.

"Come on in, guys," she said, stepping back to let us walk into the house. As we walked out of the sky-blue hallway, we saw our food placed upon a long, wooden dining table. Since Mrs. Artemis was unemployed, she had the time to prepare overly fancy and unnecessary meals. That's the benefit of living with this angel-chef.

After a few minutes passed, the three missing seats arrived. Mr. Artemis, carrying today's news-tab walked from the living room to join his wife at the table. His brown eyes and hair glittered in the light as he walked by. Vince and Isabeth, the Artemis's son and daughter, came down the steps. Isabeth's gray, square glasses staring at her tablet as she walked down the stairs. Her seven-year-old brother, Vince, however, barreled down the steps behind her. Everyone settled for breakfast, we began eating.

"Hey Dad," Isabeth said, eyes still locked onto the screen,"Have you seen what the news is saying about the Pegasus's trials?"

"Yes, but we don't talk about political matter at the table young lady, especially around young children," said Mr. Artemis pointing at Vince and Trix. He said it with a non-needed and slightly stern tone.

"Okay," she looked back down to her tablet.

Breakfast continued in silence. With us being on the Pegasus side, most of us didn't like to discuss our losing battles. The Pegasus, a group of rebels with power, were fighting for equal rights between the "Invertants" and the "Innocents."

About half way through my food, Mrs. Artemis looked up from her food, noticing Trix's white hair, and said, "Did you learn how to control your powers, Bella?" Trix hated to be called Bella, but she lets it slide when it comes to the people who feed her.

"No," she said, "Caleb just freaked me out!" As she started to get angry again, her hair turned curly again and became a deep red. Gasps of excitement came from people around the table.

"Huh," she said straight before she pulled her red hair in front of her eyes. "I got it!" Just as her hair had changed when she was angry, her eyes and hair turned a neon yellow. Her emotions seemed to cause the change of her appearance. The new abilities of Trix seemed to excite everyone. The last time a new power was noticed, it was Dylan's. She didn't have that great of an experience. As Dylan began to discover her abilities, she kept disappearing and reappearing at random.

As breakfast progressed, Trix became the center of attention. She learned to control it through emotions, though only her hair and eye color. When she changes her appearance regularly, her facial features can also change. The Five of us, including Dylan, Alex, Trix, Isabeth, and I, walked back to to the Outhouse.
