If you thought everything was going to be perfectly fine, that's when life becomes even bitchier than you think.

Seolmi's POV

"That girl is starting to get on my nerves, I mean who does she think she is?! She's just some pretty face with a slutty personality hidden in a sweet smile ugh!"

"Do you think all your ranting would make her loosen her grip on BTS?"

"Oh don't you worry, I've got a lot of plans to make that slut go away."

"Now, we're talking."

That Hani isn't going to get away with this. Who does she think she is, trying to act like Bangtan's exclusive girl?! All of us know that Bangtan is for everyone. She shouldn't act all spoiled just because she was given a little attention, that slut has gotten way too far with her slimy hands.

end of pov

Hani bid her last goodbyes in front of her mom's burial. It left a bitter taste on her tongue that their last conversation turned out to be full of unintentionally hurtful words. It made her realize that you should cherish every moment with the people you care about, because you wouldn't know if it was gonna be your last.

As she turned her back, she knew that another scar has yet grown inside her heart and with her heart already a torn and ragged entity, she knew she was uglier.

Things just doesn't go her way and the most painful part of it, her father didn't even bother visit her mom. It stung knowing that her father didn't even care. He should've at least paid his respects, even if he has long moved on and is happy with his new lover, Hani thought to herself.

Across the road from the playground that Hani sought refuge in, was Taehyung looking at her with concerned eyes. He saw Hani's mom that night she took her life. He saw her but didn't stop her. Deep inside he felt guilty, that emotion alone was very rare for someone like him. He knew she was gonna get hurt, he knew but he thought that letting her mother take her own life was actually gonna set her mother free from all the pain that was inflicted into her. Taehyung knew a lot of things but he chose to keep quiet. He didn't stop her because to him, dying was the best thing that could ever happen if it will help you forget all the pain, nonetheless not feel it at all.

He walked away and didn't bother look back because he might not be able to stop himself from cradling her in his arms.

Jungkook heard about the news and immediately head out to look for Hani, she was absent for the day and he knew she wasn't holding up too well. Although he has seen a lot of deaths and was involved in so many behind-the-scene crimes, he never killed anyone. He may be a criminal if you call it but his hyungs never  allowed him to become a monster that they all are. Jungkook was still able to stay sane and feel real emotions as his hyungs entrusted to him the last morality they could ever have. That's how Jungkook become such the soft kid he is now.

Jimin saw Jungkook running towards the campus' gates, a little smile played on his lips. If it's one thing he is happy about it's that, that child still has his own wings on him and are not yet stained with complete black, unlike Taehyung who has already lost them.

"Taekhyun, why are you here?"

"It's none of your business."

"It is our business goddamit! How can it be not our business when you are the one Taehyung has been protecting all this time?!"

"I never asked him to do that for me."

"Well that's just the kind of brother he is and you should be grateful he loves you enough!"

"If it weren't for these abilities of mine, they wouldn't be trying to take me and use all of you! If it weren't for your friend's father's obsession then you wouldn't have to do all of this! I just wanted a normal life hyung, is it so hard to ask for?"

Taekhyun's voice started to waver and this was the first time they heard him complain, the first time they saw him cry, the first time he displayed emotions. For a very long time, they thought Taekhyun was a strong shell, a statue that was preserved. Yoongi felt a little guilty at the sudden outburst and woke up from the cloudiness of his mind. Namjoon managed to keep his cool and tried to calm the two involved in the heated argument.

They were inflicting torture on Taehyung in such a way that they didn't have to get their hands dirty, it was a new technology that they have just gotten their hands upon. Now, they're partly using him as a guinea pig and imparting his punishment for failing his task. Brain-computer interfacing was something so dangerous when given to the wrong hands. A powerful technology that could destroy someone. Physically harming an individual could be more or less cured through the passage of time but being able to control the core of an individual and applying mental torture could permanently disturb the receiver.

"I'm sorry." Taehyung whispered through heavy breaths.

Hani's POV

Jungkook was outside the house but I refused to let him in and ordered the housemaid to tell him I wasn't home. I didn't have the energy to face him or anyone for that matter. I'm too emotionally drained right now. The memory of losing Nana was still fresh and now a new wound has opened in my heart at the thought of mom's tired face. Although she wore make up and was dressed beautifully inside her casket but I could still see how tired she was. I wish I could've been considerate that night and gave attention to her wavering voice rather than entertaining my own issues.

*tok* *tok*

I heard a knock from the veranda. I took a peek and saw Kookie with a pathetic smile on his face.

"How'd you get here? It's the third floor."

"I used to be stuntman."

Kookie's effort to come up with a joke didn't amuse me at all, if it was any normal day, I would've come up with a snarky reply by now.

"I don't want to see anyone right now."

"Come on, it was a big effort to come up here."

"Just leave! I'm not in the right shape to talk right now!"

That was the first time I blew up and to Jungkook of all people. I saw the pain across his face and I knew I've hurt his feelings. He lowered his head but quietly obeyed and went out, still passing through the veranda.

"Sorry." Was all I could say through the lonely setting sun, night has come through depressing winds.
