The trouble of being alone is that you'll never know for sure if anyone cared or if anyone was even there for you to begin with.

"Breaking News: A middle aged woman was found hanged in her house. Police says it was suicide."
Hani dropped the glass of water she was holding as she saw the news headline for this morning. She couldn't believe it. It felt unreal, like a nightmare in the middle of the night but she knew, she was wide awake.

"Hyung! I can't believe it, I think I may have a chance with her!" Jungkook happily announced to Jimin.
"JK, you know you shouldn't be doing this." Jimin replied with mixed feelings. He liked the girl as well but he knew all to well that they shouldn't feel that way. It'll only complicate things. Much worse, send her to greater danger.
Jungkook realized what his hyung was trying to say. It's like a reality that punched him in the face. He forgot what he truly was because of the overwhelming happiness- something he hasn't felt for the longest time.
With a heavy heart, he knelt down, defeated. He couldn't stop the tears that formed in his eyes to go down. After a few moments, he started sobbing, feeling devastated. Just when he thought that he could finally feel what love was- it crumbled too soon.
Jimin felt sad for his dongsaeng. Although, he had feelings for the same girl, he knew what the younger was feeling. It felt like the world was against all of them to feel a little happiness. Everyday had to be the same depressing cycle. He bent down and comforted the broken figure of his beloved dongsaeng and felt the little stray tear that flowed from his eyes- they just couldn't be free.

"Where's the fucking note!" The man yelled pinning Taehyung to the wall.
He just smirked, not feeling intimidated at the man who destroyed his life.
"One last time, where is it?!"
"It wasn't there. Nothing was there, you're too late, old man." He replied feeling a little relieved, because he knew that someone else now holds this devil's secret.
The man, irritated and a little worried for his dear secret to be leaked, let go of Taehyung, a little too abruptly and left with a glum expression.
Feeling drained, Taehyung sat down trying to calm himself. Although, he was happy that he didn't get hold of that note, he was still scared of what will happen once someone else found out about the secrets of that man who holds them in a leash. It was terrifying, the things that man can do, will forever scar anyone who has tasted them.
"Taehyung?" He looked up to see Hani. Although tired, he couldn't help but stand up and hugged her as if he was grasping for his only sanity left not to leave him.
"Are you okay?" Her voice sounded rather hoarse.
"Mm. Just a little tired from running around."
"Running around for what?"
"For the life of someone."
"Huh?"
"Don't mind me, I'm just a little crazy right now."
"Aren't you always?"
With that, both of them laughed through the gloomy night. They sat together in that alleyway, trying to forget all their broken realities in the presence of one another- a kind of comfort, if gone, would lead them both to the pits of despair- crumbling alone without the trace of light.
"If you could be reborn, what would you want to be?" Hani asked Taehyung who was leaning on her shoulder for support.
"I'd want to be a butterfly."
"Pft. That's so girly."
"True, but a butterfly lives a simple and free life. Having a single goal- to share life in the form of an offspring and then die peacefully after being able to love and fly in never ending bliss."
"You may be right. I'd like to become a butterfly too then."
"Yah, where's your originality!" Taehyung protested.
She just laughed as they continued to talk about random things through the night even in the most uncomfortable alleyway, they found comfort within each other.

"To fight against the will of hatred to save someone else." Taekhyun read aloud in his usual prison.
"I want to be the one doing that, not the one receiving the ends of it. I won't have it."
He closed yet another book that he has finished. He's always read to forget the void but the more he reads the more he becomes the character in the books he read. Either the protagonist or the supporting role- it doesn't matter either way, it won't change his trail of thought.
He's always felt left out but he had no right to argue but even more so he's hated the people who'd led things to the way they are now. Is this all he could do? To hate on people.
He reached for his phone after hearing the familiar ringtone.

Namjoon was making his assignments- after all he was still a student and an achiever at that. He always found himself normal when he gets to do things like this. A lot may find it a burden- after all, every student hated doing homework, but his reasons were different. He loved doing it because that's the only thing that made him feel normal and sane.
He's reflected on things for so long to the point where he felt like it was no use to keep thinking it over. It's over, there's no escape. The only hope he has left is trapped inside a box.
"Namjoon."
He looked up to see Yoongi on the door. "Yeah?"
"Tomorrow, we need to see him."
"Will he be alright with that?"
"Yeah, we need to ask him questions."
"Ahrasso. (Okay)"
Yoongi left and went to rest in his respective room. Tomorrow's gonna be a long day, Namjoon thought to himself as he closed his textbook and prepared to go get some sleep.
