Busted!

For the pass weeks I've cleaned Mr. McKnight's office I prayed he didn't find the glasses or even notice that its missing. I went to a store and order one just like it. So unfortunate, I don't even know what type of lens his glasses works with.

Concave or convex?

So it have to be a transparent lens. I'll pick it up after work and slip it in when I'm working tomorrow.

Even though its easier said than done, I'll still try. I hate the Mini heart attack feeling I get every time I clean a office on that floor.
I sat at the lunch table with Jake's laptop signing up NYU application form for registration. I've finally summed up half of my tuition for two semesters. I really hope that they accept me so I can finally do something with my life.

After work, I head home and found dad on the couch with a mug. I frown. "Dad, are you drinking coffee?"

"No baby, its just tea." He grinned.

"Dad I'm not playing OK. You know coffee is bad for you're heart and yet you're drinking it." I took the mug from his grasp.

"Oh... I wasn't expecting you so early. One cup won't hurt." He said taking it back from my hand.

"No, but it can kill you, dad!" I grab the cup before her could lift it to his lips. "And don't argue with me." I ordered him.

"Stop treating me like a baby. I hate it." Dad whines.

I kissed his head. "I'm only doing it for your well-being."

After dinner, I cleaned up and head to my room.  I picked up my phone and wish Jake and Miranda good night then headed off to slumber.

Its almost 10:30 pm and as far as I see, I'm the only one on this floor. I finished cleaning the rest of the offices. Only one left for me to clean. The thought of it makes me want to throw up. I've been encouraging myself from early today to terminate the plan with the fake glasses. Sure Mr. McKnight will certainly find out and raise an alarm for the imposter in his building. Or maybe, just maybe he won't find out because he haven't found the broken glasses so I can have time to destroy the evidence.

Good! I'll get on with it then and be very discrete so I won't get caught. And I'm pretty sure I won't- I know I won't.

With courage, I took the glasses from my moms leather bag. I peered inside the office. Thank god the coast is clear. I nervously walk to the desk, almost tripping over my damn foot. I wonder where I should put it. Maybe I should put it on his desk so he'll see it first thing in the morning.
No you idiot. Do you want to get caught?!
No, absolutely not! Or on the book shelf behind the books.

I stop in my tracks. Maybe I should get the broken one first. Yes I definitely should. I leave the glass on the desk and rush over to the couch to get the broken glasses. I pushed my hand under the seat where I left it.

Holy shit!!!

Its not there!

Look again!

I checked again and again. Its still not there. He found it!

I've been compromised.

My mouth went dry with trepidation. Why did I let my subconscious mind talk me in to this. Determined, I removed the seats from the couch and search it thoroughly, it still wasn't there. Not even a splinter.

My knees starts to fail me as I try to stand.
Every hair on my body stood at attention and my stomach turn to knots when I heard a deep angry pissed off voice.

"Hey! What the hell are you doing in my office!
