You know how a kiss can make you dream,
Then life happens and you let out a scream
At a word he said, and think it wasn't supposed to be
This way. It was supposed to be a beautiful you and me,
He said, he will love you and kiss you till the end of the days,
And he storms out the door now, and you can only pray,
That he doesn't drink today, while bleeding through your nose,
You gurgle up blood and mucus, and think about how close,
You two used to be before, safe, warm, loved and cared for.
Now its only distance and hatred between you, you don't even care for
Him. You got your head right and get up and clean the dirt
Off your body. And while doing it your tears clean your soul and heart.
And you don't hurt anymore, you pack the bags, ready to go,
The pain on your temple reminding you of the last thing he gave you was a blow.
Then you get out and close the door on the you that you became for him.
And walk away with numb pains and a new and better dream.
Of you becoming a better yourself and doing it for you.
