"Avi. We're here for you." Kirstie cried into Avi's chest. Mitch held on tightly to Scott's arm. Scott was just in shock. He wasn't moving at all. He was just... silent. Kevin grabbed onto Avi's arm with watery eyes. He rubbed Avi's arm and kissed his forehead.
They all heard a knock on a door and then the door opened creakily. Once again, life went still. Almost like the universe was taking a breath in, impatiently waiting for the dreaded news. Dr. Olusola closed the door.
"Well?" Avi asked terrified. Kevin grabbed his arm even tighter.
"I'm sorry to say this, but, well, you have stage one cancer. I am so sorry. We can put you on chemotherapy if preferred." The universe let out it's breath. The whole room broke out into sobs. Everyone except Avi was crying a new fucking Niagara Falls. Avi was staring at the ceiling. he was thinking of all the things he never got to do, and never would be able to do.
"Y-yes. Thank you." Avi hiccuped. Kevin lied his head on Avi's chest, wetting his hospital gown.
There was only one thing going on through Avi's mind; 'I'm going to die. I'm going to die.'
A/N I know that was an incredibly short chapter and I'm sorry. The next one will be better.
