Chapter 12

I woke up and saw Dally packing his things.
"You better not walk out on me like my father did!!!" I yelled. I started crying.
He jumped, "Hey, hey, hey," he came and sat next to me, "I'm not walking out on you. I need to help one of my friends with something. I'll be gone for only a week."
"You sure" I said and I wiped my eyes.
"Yes, I'm sure. I love you too much to just leave you here alone."
"But I will be alone."
"Oh ya, right. Well, you could stay with the Curtis's until I come back."
"Ya, that's a good idea."

I've been at the Curtis's for 3 days now, and for a couple days I've been real sick. I've been throwing up a lot lately.
"Nancy, you okay?" Asked Ponyboy as he walked past the bathroom, seeing me throwing up.
"Ya, ya. I'm fine."
Ponyboy left and went to go see Soda.
"Soda, I think Nancy's real sick. She's been throwing up a lot the past couple of days."
"We should take her to the doctor" said Sodapop.
"Ya, we'll go tomorrow."
Ponyboy walked back to the bathroom.
"Nancy, me and Soda are gonna take you to the doctor tomorrow. Maybe to get you some medicine."
"What, no. I'm fine."
"Yes Nancy, we're going to the doctor. Whether you like it or not." Said Ponyboy sternly, he sounded like a father getting mad at his children.
"Ok Pony" I replied.

Soda and Pony walked me into the doctors office. The doctor called me in back and they both waited in the waiting room.
"Hello, Ms. Davis. I'm Doctor Wilson."
"Hello" I replied.
"I'd like you to sit down her. Now what's the problem?"
"Well lately I've been throwing up. A lot."
"May I ask the last time you've had sex?"
"Um, about a week and a half ago sir"
Why is he asking this, I thought.
"Well, I'd like to take a test. Take this cup and go to the bathroom. Then bring it back and I'll see what's going on."
I took the cup and went to the bathroom. It was really hard to pee in such a small cup, I got some pee on my hands, it was nasty.
I brought it back to Dr. Wilson and he left me in the room, to wait.

He came back and gave me the news.
"Well, Ms. Davis. You are about 2 weeks pregnant. Congratulations."
All of a sudden I felt real dizzy, "Uh, thank you Dr."
I walked out of the room and into the waiting room.
"Hey Nanc" said Soda. I walked right outside and threw up in the bushes.
"You okay Nancy?!" Asked Ponyboy.
"No...no, I can't be..." I said.
"Can't be what?" Asked Pony.
"I'm...I-I'm...Pregnant." I said and I passed out.
