Pets!

Pets..... They're simply adorable. Well, some of them are. If you don't have one you should seriously get one, they're so useful!

Firstly, when you die they can revive you. Yeah, that was how I crawled my way to Fire Dragon Blaiard. They die as a sacrifice I guess, but it only takes about 20 seconds for them to come back to life.

Next, they can take damage for you!

3 years later and my writing has not improved at all. Note that this info is from a 2017 source, but it shouldn't have changed much.

How to get a pet

1. Get an egg through an in-game purchase or through events and hatch it

2. Raise your affinity with a stray on your island and tame them (More on this in my next post)

3 Stances

You can set your pet to 3 different stances depending on your needs through Menu -> Pet (note that this might have changed)

Fight: Your pet will aggressively attack your opponent with its weak claws. It won't heal you. Once you die that opponent is going to slaughter your pet so I personally wouldn't do it if you want to be revived. Good for grinding (for high damage pets).

Guard: You will split the damage with your pet 50/50. Good for boss fights, especially if you're a DPS class with low HP. Your pet will mainly guard you, but it will also heal you + revive you. I usually use this for boss fights with Kaiser, the 'brown fishies' (as I used to call them 3 years ago) and the seahorses in Lede Salt Lake.

Rest: Your pet will basically heal itself and stand there while you die. If I remember correctly it might still heal you, but I remember my Brosche watching me die. Good if you want it to revive you after you're killed.

Pet Builds and Food

I recommend having a pet for every stance/function, and also choosing an appropriate pet (e.g. Kijimu for healing).

As for food, as I've mentioned before, I love gelatin because they're completely neutral. No positives, no negative. But food is really useful for raising stats. Check out www.iruna-online.weebly.com/pet-food.html for a comprehensive list of pet foods. For what foods each pet likes, check out their pet list.

Pet Hotel

You can only have 3-4 pet slots maximum for free, so after that you'll have to put your pet in a pet hotel. It's not that expensive, but remember to have the right pets before challenging a boss!

I know I said I would only post my drafts but I want to write about the island system now. The Iruna craze is coming back now, haha.
