It took one more minute but the door opened and there stood a young man, in his twenties, trying to put his glasses on. And when he did, he put them down again and tried to clean them properly. He put them back on his nose, looked in front of him at Eduard the Tree and then slowly stepped back and closed the door.

"Wait!" yelled shocked Eduard. He thought that this man would be accustomed to folks like him. "I need to talk to you about your books!"

It took more than one minute but the door opened just a little bit and Eduard saw that man's head and his dark eyes. Surprisingly there was no fear but caution and curiosity. "Well, I see... actually I don't see! What do you mean?" said the man behind the door.

"I mean what I've said. I need to know where I can find ents!" said Eduard. "You know where they are because they are in your book!"

"My apology but I'm not aware of such a thing." answered man. "It's true that I am writing a fictional story from different land and time but I don't know about any ants."

"No ants! Ents! Big, walking, thinking and about compost talking trees like me!" Eduard was slowly sinking into misery. Who is this man and how come he doesn't know ents?!

"You are J. R. R. Tolkien, are you not?" asked him Eduard.

"Yes, that's me, but I really don't recall any character by the name ent in my book. I am really sorry but even if I wrote about them, they would be fictional. Not real." Tolkien's voice was full of compassion.

"Oh..." Eduard's eyes were suddenly sad and his body seemed to be on the edge of collapse. "I thought...I hoped...they're..." he sat down on the stairs in front of Tolkien's house and was silent.

Tolkien sat down next to him and they were silent for a while. Then Tolkien asked Eduard: "And if I may ask how come that you exist?"

"I am from a time far in the future. I was created by some white coat man but I was always alone since my uncle...it's a long story. There is just me." whispered Eduard.

"And isn't there a chance that your creator could create someone like you? You wouldn't be alone then." told him Tolkien.

"You think he would do that?" said Eduard.

"Well you never know until you try." Tolkien replied. "Did you try to tell him how you feel about your loneliness?"

"No. He probably doesn't even know that I can feel. He just talks and talks..." mumbled Eduard.

"Well I see. Listen then. There is no hope in rotting here or in the future unless you decide to get out of your shell and do something about it. I'll pray for you but it's up to you to choose if you will act like a stubborn tree or an intelligent creature seeking solution to your problem." said Tolkien. "Have you ever heard about Saint Peter? He was on a sea in a storm and at one moment he started to drown. And help was close; there was Jesus, Son of God, standing on water. And Peter shouted: 'Lord save me!" and Jesus reached and saved him. What I mean is if you will not seek help in the right places you can easily sink straight to the bottom and stay there forever."

"Well, when you put it this way..." said Eduard. "I guess I could try to convince Mr. Bot-Nik...but how I will get back now?! The door is closed!"

"I think when you are the only one of your kind he will come to find you, don't you think so silly?" replied a voice from the darkness.

"Mr. Bot-Nik!" yelled Eduard. "How did you...?"
