Mr. Bot-Nik looked at his watches and stepped to the side of the road. They were in one hidden street and the village was sleeping. In one moment there was nothing and in the other there was a shining portal in to the darkness. Mr. Bot-Nik and Eduard jumped in.

This trip wasn't as bad as the first one but Eduard didn't care so much now. His journey ended and he was still sad because of its failure.

When they arrived back into the future Mr. Bot-Nik took him to the garden and asked him to wait for a moment.

"Well, there we are again," said Eduard sadly and looked at the cactus. It was so repellent! "At least I can kick you for my misery!"

"Oh, that would be a pity I like those little ones," said a voice from the door.

Eduard turned around and couldn't believe his own eyes. There was a tree, standing and talking at the door! And it was a lady tree with gold leaves and slim trunk and her eyes...!

"Hallo," said the lady tree. "My name is Lúth. Do you want to meet others?"

Eduard was shocked and speechless.

"I take it as a yes," Lúth smiled and walked out of the door into the hall.

Eduard hurried out of the room.

And there they were. Seven walking and talking trees like him.

"How...but how is it...?" started Eduard.

"Possible?" finished Mr. Bot-Nik with a smile. "Easily. I was working on them all the time. I just didn't know when they will be ready to be awakened. And you were the one by whom I was going to find out. Until I wasn't sure that you feel, that you are truly alive, I couldn't risk bringing you together. I applied your developments to them in their sleep and when I found out that you actually live I could go and wake them up! I am truly sorry for your misery till this moment!"

"Oh..." was only thing Eduard was able to say. He was speechless. And amazed! There were so many kinds of them! Oaks, beeches, maples and the lady was wonderful white birch!

"Oh, I...thank you Mr. Bot-Nik! Really thank you!" said Eduard finally.

"You're welcome Eduardo," replied Mr. Bot-Nik and let them go into the garden. When he was turning to go back to his lab Eduard stopped him with a question in his eyes.

"Why, sir? Why did you created us? I am so happy that there is someone like me. And I heard them talk about compost! But anyway I was wondering, why did you create us, sir?"

"Well," Mr. Bot-Nik smiled and Eduard saw a sparkle in his eye. "You are not the only fan of J. R. R. Tolkien in history my lad," the scientist winked at him and added: "Now go to the others and enjoy your Fangorn. I'll be right back with kids, I mean hobbits."
